Nice Rooms, But Not so Good Service
from A TripAdvisor Member
I stayed at the Hyatt the weekend of June 26. The hotel it self is excellent. The hotel is nicely decorated, in a good location in very trendy Yorkville; a nice to walk around, and it’s across the street from the ROM. It was hot in Toronto that weekend and I complained to the hotel that the A/C was not working, which it wasn't. The response that I got was "we are sorry to hear that", that is all; no one came to fix or offered to move me to a different room. Now this place isn't exactly the cheapest place in town, I had expected the level of service to be extremely high. I also found the bed to be of lower quality, not very comfortable. If you want to stay in a nice hotel in a good location but with bad service, go for it. But I not think I will be staying at this overrated hotel again.
Go to the Roof Bar after dark for a magical evening
from Shadestn
I was not a guest at the hotel but I did go to the 18th floor to check out the Roof Bar. It has a great view of the city during the day but try to go there after the sun has set. Sipping your favorite beverage looking out at the city lights sparkling below is a beautiful way to cap off the evening. There is inside and outside seating. Last call is something like 1:00am so you don’t have an excuse!
Impressive service

I have been staying at this hotel for the past 6 years and has never been disappointed. I recall my husband saying to me that the service & the comfort of the rooms have been beyond his expectation. The staff is always attentive and courteous. The hotel's location is very ideal in the lovely city of Toronto.
Stay in the North Tower!!!
from jhoetjes
I travel to Toronto on business yearly and have stayed at the Park Hyatt on more than one occasion. I would highly recommend staying in the north tower. The north tower is beautifully laid out and very luxurious. The restaurant, Anona was very good, however do yourself a favor and walk 3 or 4 blocks north on Avenue Rd and dine at Sotto, Sotto, the finest restaurant in all of Toronto. The deal with this hotel is that the south tower was actually a very old hotel. It has since been renovated to some extent, but is still very old. the heating/cooling systems are dated and the room just felt old with nice furnishings in it. I realized this after my first visit and have always stayed in the north tower since. One caveat... I would think for the money your spending they would leave a bottle of water in the evening like you get at any other top notch hotel. but hey, that may be me just being picky. Just thought of one more negative-THERE ISN'T A POOL FOR GUEST USE. but from my room I was able to see everyone swimming across the street in the Four Season's indoor/outdoor pool 8-(
great staff
from A TripAdvisor Member
just returned from a 3 night stay and just loved the service. The staff on the driveway were particularly fantastic and always had a smile on their faces even in the frigid cold weather. The doormen (i think i met 2 of them) were always positive and ready to help. I can't imagine having to do the job they do in the winters up in Canada so I hope they receive recognition from their management. We also enjoyed the spa facilities and the rooftop bar so much so that we will be returning in the summer for another stay. Thanks Park Hyatt

s Best - Unbeatable Location
from IAD777
Opulent, beautiful, classy hotel in one of the best locations in Toronto. Staff is a pleasure, rooms are large, bathrooms are gorgeous and the concierge really knows the city.
Not impressed
from A TripAdvisor Member
I've stayed at Park Hyatts in both Philadelphia and Chicago, and this hotel paled in comparison with the other two. When I first arrived, the room looked gorgeous, but there was more to it. There was quite a bit of hair in the shower and crumbs in the comforter! The staff was very efficient, however, when we called them to clean our room. All in all, this hotel is overrated!
Oasis of Luxury

My family and I spent 4 days and nights at the Park Hyatt Toronto and had an excellent experience. We got a rate of $196 Canadian and checked into a standard room in the south tower. This room was spacious and beautifully decorated. It did look directly out onto Bloor Street which meant we had some street noise but that's a city hotel for you. The other thing we noticed in all the areas of the the hotel that we visited, including the basement spa, was the rumble of the subway trains running directly beneath the hotel. Not that there is anything they could do about it but it was a faint, continuous presence. The hotel's staff were consistently gracious. We had trouble getting our room to cool below 72 degrees and a maintenance man was expeditiously sent to help. When, after 2 visits, he was unable to improve things, we were offered another room in the north tower which we accepted and a bellman was dispatched to move us. Our north tower room was slightly larger than the south tower room and had upgraded bath products (as well as a more modern and functional heating and cooling system) but the closet was significantly smaller.
As other reviewers have mentioned, the Stillwater Spa is very popular with guests and Torontonians and it appears that making a reservation more than one week in advance is advisable. I was able to reserve only a 30 minute massage. The spa facilities are top notch although not as luxuious as I had expected and the staff were accomodating almost to the point of intrusiveness.
My one minor complaint was that when I experienced trouble connecting to the hotel's (wired) internet network and the telephone technical support provided was no help, the "computer technician" the hotel sent up knew less about my computer than I did and I ultimately resolved the issue myself. Still, once working, the free internet functioned well and was a nice ammenity, especially since phone calls are $1.50 each.
We did not eat in the hotel restaurant and got breakfast each morning at the Second Cup coffee shop attached to the hotel but the restaurant, Anona, certainly looked like a nice place for dinner.
Overall, this is an excellent hotel for business or leisure and excellently located on the edge of Yorkville and across the street from the 4 Seasons.

Pleasure to be in Canada
from A TripAdvisor Member
My wife and I flew from Atlanta on 11/5. We had to find some sanity after seeing the election results. We were once again blue people drowning in a sea of red ka-ka. Third visit to Toronto and it just keeps getting better and better.
The North tower room was great, roomy and comfortable. The warm greeting was apparent from the minute we pulled up to check in. Everyone we met made you feel wanted and appreciated, the US dollar value ain't bad either . I later came to find out that they all felt badly for the Americans,( yes they saw the electin results).
My advice to everyone...go to Canada, visit Toronto, stay at the Hyatt, and fall in love with a great vibrant, clean city, where the nightly news does not start out with who was killed today.
I now know why the south lost the war, and they have lost me, and several friends as well. Six years till retirement, and then you will here me talk with that funny Canadian accent.
Understand Bubba!!!!

Extra Charges I was surprised by the total of various and sundry charges added to the room cost. Parking was expensive too.
