I just needed a place to sleep, that's all. What a frighteningly horrid room I ended up in- Room 14, facing Kingston Road to be specific. The framework around the door had been torn apart, with ancient insulation hanging out- cigarette burns everywhere, filthy 20-year "furniture, and a toilet that had not been "sanitized for your protection." The walls and floors were filthy also, but the bed gave the appearances of having fresh sheets, and the towels appeared to be clean. Still, I slept with my clothes on, including my shoes.

It was the kind of motel room you'd use in a scene from a nasty violent movie.

What a crappy, neglected, run-down [ ]-hole this place is.

The next time I find myself on this stretch of Kingston Road feeling that I need to "have a nap," I'd prefer to sleep in my car.

This Hav-A-Nap Motel has been here on Kingston Road for over forty years and based on my experience, it is long overdue to be demolished. The room I stayed in seemed already partially demolished, so that's a start.

As a young couple we stopped by the Hav A Nap, tired and hungry we werent looking for anything special, just a place to rest our heads...we ordered the room for a reasonable price of 60$ plus a 10$ deposit, took the key and went off to our room. This is when what should have been a simple business transactaction turned insane. We looked in, there was tobaco stains dripping down the walls, broken glass in the corner, cigarrette butts under the bed and couches, and worst of all pubic hair in the bed. As disgusted as we were, we decided to give the motel another chance, and went back to the lady and told her, so she apologized and offered us another room. It was equally disgusting. Pubic hairs in the sheets! The two of us politly told the clerk that we could not stay at the motel, that it was simply unsatisfactory, and asked for our money back. The clerk refused! After about 5 minutes of trying to reason, we had enough and called the police, at which point the clerk was yelling and screaming, having what seemed to be a nervous breakdown. As my girlfriend was on the phone with the police, I made a deal with the clerk, I agreed to make the bed in the room, which she refused to examine, and in exchange get my money back! How bizarre? Anyways...we jumped into another cab and found a nice cozy motel just down the road (forget the name) that was very clean, warm, and offered great service, for the same price of 60$ plus 10$ deposit.
