While the entrance lobby, doorman, bellboys all give a really good impression, on closer inspection this hotel is really past its best. Don't, ladies venture into the lobby restrooms, the paper is peeling of the walls, chipped mirrors ground in dirt in the corners! Our bedroom was much the same, dirty grouting, windows and flooring. The staff were disinterested when I complained about the full bins and dirty toilets. We were only there for one night and with over 1000 bedrooms they didnt seem bothered about the individual guest. One to avoid until it gets refurbished.

It was expensive, although not more than it's peers. Other than that, it was what you'd expect in a high-quality hotel in a big city. Restaraunts, gift shops, helpful staff, very nice gym and pool. Internet was not wireless or free, but available.

We found the staff helpful (even when we arrived very late due to flight delays), the room was spacious, very comfortable and en suite spotless. The top floor swimming pool is great, you can view the CN Tower while swimming! It has a gym, jacuzzi, sauna and outdoor area where you can enjoy beautiful views of the city and enjoy a drink.
We ate at The Market Garden restaurant which had lots of good food to suit all tastes, excellent quality and again an outdoor arae to sit and eat. The hotel is not far from the sights of Toronto city including the CN Tower - we would recommend this hotel completely.

Years ago, the Delta Chelsea was a traveller's dream. The doorman, remembered your name, the bartender knew your regular drink and the rooms were neat, clean and cheap. Then in the late 80's they renovated and added a whole new wing which meant the size of the check in/out line got longer, and you were woken up at 7am to the sounds of construction.
After a disasterous stay in 91, I stopped going there and would pay whatever extra costs were involved to stay somewhere better. Then finally in 2004 I was booked into the Chelsea as part of a business conference.
What a mistake that was. The room looked like it hadn't been renovated in years. The furniture was chipped and in poor repair, the carpet was stained and I had to wait 1 hour in the morning to get my room service breakfast that was cold when it arrived.
The staff seemed disinterested in my problems, or maybe they had simply heard them from too many people that they no longer cared. In any case, I will stay at other Delta Hotels but never again at the Chelsea.

This Hotel is pure luxury!
Make sure you ask for a room with a balcony tho! The pool on the top floor is superb fun.. or sit in the jacuzzi watching out of the windows!
The bar is lovely, room is pure lush, location is great for shopping, resturants bars etc.
The staff are so polite and helpful - perfect holiday!

I was a guest at the Delta Chelsea in Toronto during Caribana weekend. For this hotel to be a Five Star facility the service and policies definitely werent Five Star worthy. The Policies:
1. Guests paying in cash should be informed before making reservations that an additional $200.00 deposit will be required at check in time. This should also be in writing so there are no discrepancies.
2. Guests should also be informed that during such venues as the Caribana a wristband policy will be enforced and non-guests will not be permitted in the hotel after a specified time. This should be in writing as well.
3. Guests should also be informed at check in time, as I was that the entire visit is charged on the credit card no matter what. Even though this wasnt true the employees should receive additional training on the policies.
The Service:
1. Valet service should also come with a specified wait time. If the car doesnt arrive within 5 minutes of submission then some form of reward should be given for the lack of service.
2. When a car is dropped off there should be someone there to greet you, open the door, and park the car immediately. No one should have to sit in the car, wait for an attendant, or walk to a doorman to hand the keys over. A valet is an employee, as in a hotel or on a ship, who performs personal services for guests or passengers. Its a good idea to have your valet persons remember this definition.
The first receptionist was rude, unhelpful, and lied about the entire balance being charged because we were able to pay cash at the end of our visit. The manager on duty at check in time was not empathetic at all regarding the $200.00 deposit or wristband policy. The valet service was not worth the money. We were not greeted by anyone anytime we arrived. The wait time was ridiculous whether we were picking up or dropping off. This hotel had the absolute worst service I have ever experienced. As an adult I felt as if I was being treated like a child with a curfew. The wristband enforcement was pathetic and the additional deposit was deplorable. This hotel will never receive a recommendation from me nor will I ever visit this hotel for any reason in the future. I would rather stay in a motel than any Delta Chelsea establishment no matter where it is.

I went on a music tour to Canada last year and we stayed at the Hotel Delta Chelsea, we arrived in the early hours of the morning and the staff were very helpful in helping us with our luggage and providing us with a huge room to store all our instruments. The rooms are well furnished and the hotel offers common ammenities, including a pool, shops, food areas etc. Moreover, it is ideally located near the CN tower and plenty of shops, a really beatiful holiday.

The hotel was very accommodating and a perfect location in Toronto. The front desk staff and door men were terrific. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

We were impressed with the thoughfulness of the family programming. Despite all we did in Toronto, my seven-year-old son only talks about the water slide and playing BINGO. We also did the behind-the-scenes tour and participated in the Easter Egg hunt. Honestly, we could have kept busy without ever leaving the hotel.
Our only complaint was noisy neighbors the first night we were there. The were gone the second night and we slept peacefully.

My daughter and I stayed at the Delta Chelsea in Toronto while she attended a dance audition for Ryerson University Fine Arts Program. Our stay was marred by unacceptable housekeeping - after being away from our room all day,it was not cleaned by 6pm !!!and I had to complain...shortage of staff?? they insisted not...Room service was bad, we got dried nacho chips,a bowl of cheese whiz and chicken wings for $36!! Noisy rooms, the doors slam shut when people go in and out and I think we had a football team staying on our floor!!!The only plus was the location to Ryerson and shopping, but there are other hotels close by that satisfy those criteria. We were unimpressed with the cafeteria style market restaurant in the hotel, and would only recommend it for a fast breakfast. The consierge was great..
