Before I arrived I wasn't really expecting much but was more than happy, very clean with friendly and helpful staff and with it being so central made my getting around easy. I will stay there next time I visit, without a doubt.

We havejust returned from a week at the Bond Place Hotel - my 50th birthday treat. I used Tripadvisor to choose the Hotel and we were not disappointed. I would agree with the 4 star reviews based on the excellent location,clean rooms and friendly staff. We would single out Jing the bellboy for his helpfulness - great tips on where to eat and what to see. The fried eggs for breakfast brought back memories of my childhood- bright yellow yolks and great taste. We had a wonderful holiday - thanks to Trip Advisor.

We stayed in the Bond Place on two occasions in March (at the beginning and end of a round trip) and had a different room each time. The first room was at the front of the hotel and was pretty noisy through the night with traffic and drunks staggering about singing having left the pub across the street. The second room we were in was at the back of the hotel and was much higher up from street level- it was relatively quiet. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel for a short stay in Toronto. The staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and comfy, and the hotel is very central, convenient to shops and the underground system. I would have to say though that, although clean, the bathrooms have really seen better days and the shower in one of our rooms sprayed as much water up on the celing and over the rest of the bathroom as it did on me standing under it. Also be aware that we booked through an agency online and, although we specified a non-smoking room and had that on our written booking confirmation, the Bond Place claimed to have no preference noted and had no non-smoking rooms available when we checked in late at night.

Clean and comfortable

We stayed here two years in a row, 2000 & 2001. On both visits we found it to be clean with comfortable rooms. The big plus is the location, one block from the eaton centre and Yonge St. with loads to see and do.
As I worked for a budget hotel chain in the UK, i kind of knew what to expect and for the price I wasn't dissapppionted, we were hardly in the room so it was perfect for us. The staff were fine and were very helpful when we had to find a dentist for my partner on Victoria Day.
The area does seem a bit dodgy when you arrive but we had no problems at all. If you're looking for somewhere cheap, clean and close to toronto's attractions, you really can't go wrong with this hotel.

We stayed at the Bond Place last week and found it to be a good hotel in a very convenient location. If you're looking for a fancy stay with a pool, jacuzzi, fitness center,etc. then look somewhere else. But if you simply need a decent place to stay that is centrally located, then the Bond Place should be for you.

If you're looking for an inexpensive, clean and central place to stay at - this is your hotel. It is only 1 block away from the Eaton Centre, restaurants and all sorts of other things. The rooms are small, but neat and tidy. There is a restaurant on the main floor and some sort of bar in the basement. They have underground parking just across the street and it is only $12/day with in & out privileges!! Downsides were: the front desk agents were a bit rude to my boyfriend when he checked in, you have to pay for any local calls made & no cigar shop to get snacks at. These were only minor shortfalls, so I would probably stay there again.

The location is superb, bang in the centre. The rooms are clean and basic and I guess the rate is pretty good considering the location. The staff however are pretty rude and really let the whole place down. I'd stay again though

I stayed here in early Feb '04 and had no complaints at all. Room was clean (not a lot of spare room but for the money spent this is to be expected), shower pressure was great, TV, Radio Alarm Clock, Hair Dryer, Coffee Maker + phone all in room. Staff helpful. Excellent location for downtown Toronto. Highly recommended/

My wife and I stayed at the Bond Place on our first ever trip to Toronto. We found the room clean and quite adaquate for a budget hotel.
The staff were friendly and always willing to help. Location was excellent, (especially for shopping) and I went out every night to see the city and although the area does 'look dodgy' on first glance, I niether witnessed or had any problems at all.All in all it was an excellent stay and if I ever went back to toronto would have no qualms about staying at the Bond Place again. For all shoppers, it is situated 200mtres from the entrance to the 'underground mall' - enjoy!!!!! I did!!!

Clean Hotel with friendly staff

Service is very good. This hotel is only good if you need a place to stay for the night. Not good for honeymooners or tourists. Bond Place Hotel is like Comfort Inn. It's clean but not luxurious. There's no fitness centre or swimming pool. And who wants to watch movies or TV programs on a 13 inch TV? I was disappointed. We stayed for 3 nights and paid $88/per night. I would recommend tourists visiting Toronto to just add $50 or less to this price and check in to a luxurious or first class hotel in Toronto. At my time of booking, an online hotel booking company was offering a first class hotel room for $119 a night (Fairmont Royal York,Marriott and other luxurious hotels). I should've taken that and enjoyed my stay more. Anyway, Toronto is a great place to visit. There are so many things to do. I will definitely be back to this city but not to this hotel. I would pay an extra $30 to $50 to get a luxurious hotel. Bond Place is really clean and the staff is very friendly. I just don't recommend it to tourists because they will not enjoy their stay. This hotel should be rated 2 stars.

Top Local Tips for Toronto

Very cold at moment - how to avoid the cold Its very cold in Toronto at the moment. Use the Subway, its not as cold as above ground and also use PATH underground walkway. Its linked to the Eaton shopping centre and we found it a great way to get around. Take lots of warm clothes as well, layers, as you will not be underground all the time. Also Niagara Falls are a must see - We took the train but get up early, it goes early morning.

Theatre Check out the cheap tickets for the theatres at the local cut price ticket office.

Leave your Car at home! The public transportation in Toronto is a joy to behold. Take advantage of it!
