Were not advised of free breakfast offer until after they made an error on my bill and they explained what services I'd received. We stayed 3 nights. Bed was comfortable. Maid service basic. Staff were unfriendly, and rarely at the front desk.
The place is just a notch below clean. Not enough to check out. Screen door broken, noisy bathroom fans, carpet stains, - needs a renovation badly. Look elsewhere.

Unlike the other two reviewers, I understand that you have to pay more when staying at a seasonal tourist area. The room we rented had a spectacular balcony with a view of the harbour. the August breeze was spectacular and we have never slept better. The room was spacious and very clean.
The complimentary breakfast was far less than expected with only a choice of bran flakes, corn flakes, oatmeal and toaste. Eggs and a choice of muffins don't cost much and the hotel should consider it.
Remember it is the best view in town....you have to pay for that!!!

As the other reviewer noted the hotel tries very hard to be 'high class' but falls short.
This is a 'high end hotel', yet they don't have free ice? But they are more than happy to sell ice to you for $2/bag. No thank you. I can buy ice anywhere else.
The staff seems disinteresteed or demoralized. I over heard the owner ream out a staff member so I am not sure which it is.
At check in the desk clerk was more interested in talking to her friends on the phone than checking me in.
For me the bench mark is I stayed at Comfort Inn for half the cost and twice the service.

Tries destperately to be a high-end facility but fails in every possible way to succeed. TINY, TINY room. Can hear nighbouring room's plumbing. The bathroom exhaust fan clattered all night. My view was a brick wall even though we were told over the phone that we had a "side" view. Steak at dinner was tough as nails. Vinegar bottle had age old guck on it. Waitress took our salt and pepper to give it to the guests at the next table. Complimentary breakfast lacked fruit, muffins, bagels. All that was available was hot/cold cereal, juice, coffee, toast. Front desk staff sent maid up to our room to inspect it for damage, etc., before we could check out!!! They have higher standards for their guests than they have for themselves!!! Over-priced. Over-rated!!!
