Comfortable Rooms, Great Dining

We found the rooms to be clean and comfortable. No views from the rooms, but superb views and sunsets from the patio deck at the dining room. The dining was the best we have had in Canada with great friendly service.

We have looked long time for a lodging in Tobermory and read all reviews on the Internet about all Motels. It seemed difficult for us, because the usual hotel chains are not to find at Tobermory. But now - where we were there I can only say: Thank God. It is also to be owed to the small motels that Tobermory has remained such a nice and original place. The Grandview Motel is a little better than a motel. From the outside it looks like a usual motel, as you find often in the areas of natural parks - like Yellowstone Park. It is right, as here already described - the shower is not very high, but my husband is 6.8 feet and he really had a shower. The rooms are nicely furnished and clean. We felt fine. The walls are a little light dependent. The position of the motel is very nice. On a small hill - and from the restaurant at the breakfast you have a wonderful view over the bay, most rooms do not have this view - don't expect this. But from the Motel there is a very nice footpath direct...... Read more

The worst hotel I have ever stayed

By seeing high rating on this web site I was very excited to stay in this motel. Once I reached there with my family by seeing the attitude of front office girl half of my excitement disappeared. Rooms are with bare amenities. Worst part of my stay was taking shower in the bathroom. Shower head is around 4 feet high (so you can imagine how adults are going to take shower) . Getting water on a desired temperature would be a challenge..it took almost 10 min for me.. and than once I started taking shower water will fluctuate between chilled and boiled water….overall I will not recommend anyone to stay in this motel… at 130.00 per night it is just a rip off…

Great place to stay

We decided to book and stay here after reading a review of another place in Tobermory we had booked. It was a great decision to change hotels !!
Very clean and well kept. The whole property was immaculate. The view is great; out to the ferry. The restaurant is very good; the meals a bit pricy, but very well done and good portions.
Would have appreciated better toilet paper. We would highly recommend staying here, and will book again.
