A big thank you to Janice and Jamie. We had an awesome family vacation the first week of Aug. 2010 in the Luxury Beach suite at the Terrawoods Resort. We were two families including two children, two adults and 4 young adults ages 19 -22. We all had a great time. From swimming to fishing, canoes, kayaks, paddle boats. We were close to Parry Sound and Killbear for the the older kids to explore. The suite was awesome lots of room for eight people, clean and nicely decorated. The younger kids had a blast meeting new friends. Everyone was so friendly..Thanks to all who were there..Catherine and Audrey

This review is in response to the posting below from the families who stayed at Terrawoods on Labour Day weekend. Myself, my husband, and another couple (in our late 20's/early 30's) were in one of the rented cottages that weekend and were very disturbed by how loud and obnoxious your family was. In fact, the statement that you made concerning the kids being in bed is false, as I can vouch that I could see/hear these kids well past midnight. Needless to say, we were not surprised at all to hear the next morning that you were asked to vacate the premises.

I find it irresponsible to attempt to place blame on the owners of Terrawoods for your lack of respect for others. Upon our check-in, the owners explained that although they have a quiet time of 11:00pm, they did not have any problems with us sitting around our firepit past that time, as long as were not too loud to wake our neighbours. The owners of Terrawoods were actually very apologetic for the disturbance and graciously lengthened our check out time.

We had a fantastic weekend at Terrawoods and will definitely be returning. This was actually our 2nd visit and the 1st was just as enjoyable!

Group of five guys stayed in the Beach Condo Sept 8-10. This place had it all, within 5 minutes of unpacking and putting our boat in the water we were taking full advantage of the amenities. From horseshoes to volleyball to just sitting on the patio having a drink, Terrawoods has it all. Check in was smooth and the owner (Michael) was very cordial and socialable. I must address the 3 previous negative reviews, firstly please notice they are all from the same weekend, hence the same group of friends. When my group of 5 guys checked in I could tell that Michael seemed a little aprehensive, after speaking with him for a while I came to find out that he had some real problems with a group the weekend prior and had to call the police to have them removed. As it turns out this group were completely intoxicated prior to 10am, quite rowdy and disruptive. I assure any one reading this that my group of 5 guys had a fire every night and stayed up until the wee hours of the morning with no problems from the staff or other guests. From speaking with the owner it appeared that he had to have these people removed not only to perserve the cottages but to protect all the other repectful customer's weekend. Terrawoods made it very clear to us that at 11:00pm it's time to quiet down, meaning turn down the music and don't be yelling and hooting and howlering. Like I said we didn't crash until the wee hours and never heard boo from anyone about it. It is very irresponsible to blame the resort for one's own actions.

Terrawoods is a family Resort and as a result no noise is permitted after 11PM. We like this because we do not have to worry about loud parties ect. We come and will return for the quite not for the drunks wondering the park at night .

I was in Parry Sound for a Wedding, & the Quality was full?? So i found Terra woods which was reasonably priced, so I signed up! HE told me it was nice & we would have the whole top floor & all of my friends rooms were connected! I got there & we were interagated & told no noise & we had to go to bed early?? We couldn't have a fire or swim after dark! It was more like a German concentration camp then a place to relax! We were told once we got back from the Wedding we had to go straight to bed, no noise & that was that! Everytime we would walk by or drive up they would watch us like a HAwk! I have already told all my friends, never ever go there, spend the extra money, cause Terra Woods is not a fun place to be!!

I recently travelled to Parry Sound for a friends wedding and was to stay at Terrawoods Lodge. I booked my room for a Saturday night at a rate of $80.00 which seemed reasonable, but considering I would have had to enter my room through that of a friends, I felt the price was a little steep. The standard room rate that I can gather was the same.
Fortunately, I was able to move my schedule around and make my way up on the Friday night where I was planning on renting either the same room I had reserved as Saturday (considering my friend was already there)or another room. Due to poor road conditions I arrived later than expected (10:30pm) and the office was closed. I parked my car and began to search for my friend's vehicle in order to locate the rooms. When I did'nt find the vehicle I phoned the office because I was desperate for a room for the night. The owner refused to rent me a room for the night because "It was too late". The phone conversation ended and I was left without a room. I contacted the bride and groom for their whereabouts only to be confronted from the balcony by the owners. They rudely ordered me to remove my vehicle from the property immediately because I can only assume guests were sleeping or I was parked in the wrong spot (still unclear). I was completely shocked that I was seriously under attack for no great reason whatsoever. Now I know that sometimes we make mistakes, but this was a blatant disregard for my well being. It was late and I was unfamiliar with the area. All I tried to do was get a room and after I explained that I was renting a room from them the next day, the response was "Well that's tomorrow". I turned around, got in my vehicle and drove away.
The next day I arrived and spoke with the owner and expressed to him my displeasure with the situation that took place the night before. He basically looked at me like I had three eyes for expressing myself and tried to spin the situation on me. We came to an agreement that the arrangements were not a fit and the owner refunded my Visa for the balance.
Anyways, to wrap things up I want to say that I've travelled all across Canada, Eastern US and Mexico and have never come across this type of service. I even graduated from Hotel Management and I'm originally from Northern Ontario. The service was indeed the worst I've ever seen!!

We booked 3 cottages for the Labor day weekend. We were 6 families with kids and adults and seniors and have rented cottages for over 10 years but never have any problems like this.

The OWNER got disturbed at 11:00 PM the first night by us talking around the fire pit meanwhile our kids and neighbors were happily sleeping in the rooms. He called the police and we were kicked out the next morning without much details and we got charged for all 3 nights even though we didn't use their cottages.
He was extremely rude and not willing to work/talk with us at all.
This is NOT the way you treat your clients!

Stay away!!!! Go anywhere else but not here unless you go in the cottage and sleep all day and night without making any sound !
