I stayed here one night in August. I had driven past it before and I liked the fact that it was located on the edge of lake. I had checked out their website and it seemed nice enough; I didn't expect luxury.
I should have known how bad it was when the desk clerk asked me if I wanted to see the room before I checked in. Sadly, I did not take this as a sign and assumed that it would be fine. When I opened the door to my room, I was hit with the smell of old tobacco smoke that had seeped into the dingy carpeting and curtains. The carpet was old and dingy and I wore my slippers on it the whole time. The furnishing looked like it was from the sixties and it probably was the original furnishings from when this motel first opened. I guess you could call it Salvation Army chique. There was a small fridge and it worked, but it was rusty and dirty. There was a television with cable. The bed linens were ripped and luckily I had my sleeping bag in the car, so that I slept in that on top of the bed, as I really wasn't going to get into that bed. This brings us to the bathroom: It was the most disgusting bathroom I've seen in a good long while. Washrooms at campgrounds are nicer than this bathroom. The tub was rusted out. The shower head looked like it was missing and the spray coming out of it seemed to go in all directions except straight. There were spiderwebs in the corner of the bathroom. The sink had the pipes showing underneath and it just looked dirty. I actually kept my slippers on in the shower, that is how disgusting I thought it was.
For a room that cost me $ 70.00 plus dollars, it was pathetic. I was angry that they even dared to charge their clients such a price for such a horrible, cheap, dingy, smelly hole!
Go camping instead of staying here, because I guarantee you that you'll have a better experience!
