Large groups

We stayed at the Travelodge because we had a hockey tournament. I would advise people that want to book large groups that are looking to have a little fun after games, not to book at this hotel.They have no where for you to hang out and socialize. They should know that it may get a little loud with a large group of adults and children, this was a full hockey team. They ended up booking guests near us that complained the whole time. What hotel runs like this, you would think that they would be happy that we booked such a large group with this hotel, concidering all of the competition out there. Another thing that I was not amused with was that a guest had thier dog there and it did its duty right in the hall, sorry guys, I`m an animal lover too, I have cats and a dog, but they need to come up with a better system then that. Another thing that I was not happy with was that they made you feel like they didn`t want you there when you booked in and then they were great when you booked out. So concidering all of this, its not good for large groups and I know I won`t stay there again. its to bad for the kids because they did have fun in the wave pool and the lifegaurds were great. Oh and one other thing..always put your do not disterb sign out because the cleaners go in your room when your not there to make beds and there are people from the streets coming in dropping off food flyers, how safe is that for your kids.The room was very clean but there were no windows, only a patio door that they keep locked and the only view out it was a wall, no windows, no air and the clorine was so strong, I could smell it in my room, I could still smell it days later after I got home, my eyes burned for the whole day that we left. I could go on and on, because i am the type of person that expects Quality for her money, and thats not what I got. Last thing is that you should expect to pay for your local call, I was not informed on that, I was sure local calls were free.

Where's the caring for your customers?? We didn't see it!

Our daughter and granddaughter stayed at the hotel as part of a block of rooms that were booked for a family wedding.

Our five year old granddaughter left her beloved stuffed toy "Floppy Ears" in the room by mistake. Despite several phone calls and a visit in person (because we were leaving for Alberta that evening) we were repeatedly told that nothing could be done and that it would have to wait until the next day when housekeeping was in.

How hard would it be for someone to actually show some interest, caring, and compassion to look for the stuffed toy? It may not seem like a big deal to an adult, but to a five year old child it's huge!

We were appalled at the lack of customer service. The only reason this rating is not zero is because the toy was located the next day and picked up by relatives; but it will require shipping to Alberta. It would have meant so much to a small & future customer to have had Floppy Ears on the journey home.

Honestly, a small effort could have had such a big impact! Instead, we're left with a bad taste about Travel Lodge.

Clean Neat Simple

The hotel was clean and neat. The reason for the average rating was because we had a false alarm at 2:30 in the morning, we couldn't get into our room until after 4am. No explanation was given nor was there an apology. Simply putting a small discount or even an offer of one not being given, is an insult. Its your objective to give us the best stay possible. In your control or not, its your responsibility to make what ever adjustments are necessary. And theres to much chlorine in the pool.

Loads of Fun!!

My wife, daughter and I enjoyed our stay at your hotel. We were impressed with the staff. We really enjoyed the water park area, except for the fact that there were too many SMALL children allowed in the hot tub - with parents and unsupervised. Overall though, a good time was had by all!!

I booked my 2 day stay at the wave pool travel lodge in Ottawa. I really enjoyed my stay there its too bad there isn't alot of choice inthe food but my children enjoyed it alot... The only thing i didn't like was that i had booked on internet and had paid for 3 days which gave me a great discount at 81.00 a room. But i had to come back a day early because of funerals and i was already there for medical reasons... I lost 81.00 of of my credit card because i had booked online... Never again will i do that... But yes i will continue going to travel lodge because i enjoy the atmosphere and i am always treated exalently... Thank you again and keep doing a nice job.
