Reservationist..to the rescue!!!

In Planning our trip to Niagra Falls,I was confused at all the options in hotels,restaurants,pkgs,tours and etc. After hours of surfing the internet,phone calls and reading about Niagra,I got more confused. Finally,I made reservations at the Hilton.

I also read reviews from frommers and trip adviser that seemed to help alot. I wanted to make a change in my reservation at the Hilton,so i called the reservation desk. The Lady was very helpful and did not push a certain room or pkg. She also was quite calm and pleasant. Now i have all the info i need for a great stay at the Niagra Hilton. I am looking forward to writing a review when i return from Niagra. come back next week and read it.

Stayed at the hotel in June 2001, respectful staff, room service great. Room was large with jacuzzi, relaxing.

One of the nicer hotels that I have stayed at...The room was exceptionally clean and fresh smelling...The view was decent albeit the construction of another hotel in front of it overlooking the water. Bathroom was clean, toiletries were neutrogena products. Package deal includes free shuttle runs over to the casino...Definitely not worth paying for and a little far to walk back (given that it was quite cold out still). Overall, excellent hotel...Is it 5 star material...not quite...will give it a 4 though. The dining experiece at the top of the hotel was exceptional...Fantastic view, first class service and decent food! Again, being part of the package you could not ask for more. P.S. it is supposed to be a higher class restaurant so please don't wear jeans, t-shirt and sport a cap...you can save that for burger king. I would definitely stay at the Hilton again.

My Wife and I have quickly become regular customers of this great hotel. Over the course of the past few months, the Hilton -Niagara has become a place of refuge and relaxation for us. We look forward to our getaways to Niagara Falls, something we try to do about six times a year. We have made the Hilton our home away from home and enjoy the two night packages with King/Jacuzzi Suite and Premium Falls View. The rooms are exceptionally clean and very, very spacious. Staff are helpfull and friendly. Parking is abit pricey ($i2.00/day) for parking in the rather small area out back. Unfortunately, the Canadian fallsview-View is diminishing on each visit. Noticably, anything below the 20th floor is greatly impared because of the casino construction across the street. Nevertheless, overall it has been an excellent hotel experience for us.......... F. Nice Experience

As a frequent Niagara Falls tourist (2x a year), this was my first stay in the Hilton. I booked a junior suite thru an online hotel discount site for a steal and could not have been more pleased. Upon an early arrival, we were permitted to check in with no problem. The valet was at our car door before it even stopped offering to carry our luggage up to our room. The room was super clean-- and didn't smell of mold or mildew(as hotels sometimes do when near a body of water). There were extra bed linens as well as pillows in the spacious closet. The room also had 2 tvs-- each in their own armoire. The bathroom was spacious-- large vanity, 2 person jacuzzi tub as well as a glass enclosed shower. We did have to call to the front desk after using the shower as there was a lake of water on the floor from lack of a seal around the door, but someone came to fix it within 5 minutes. I would have given this hotel a 5 rating, but the view is something to be desired-- even in a hotel so close to the falls. Instead of a great Falls view (as boasted on their site), our view was marred by construction of another casino. Overall, I would stay there again if I found another great deal.

We stayed at the Hilton for one night and hated it. It certainly does not deserve 4 stars! The sheets and bedspreads were torn and stained. The carpet was dirty and itchy. The shower didn't work so we were forced to take a bath. There was no dressing table to get ready. Very little light to see. The TV cabinet was also used as a CLOSET! (What kind of 4 star hotel puts a tv in a closet!) The coffee maker was in the bathroom. (most 4 star hotels have a seperate mini bar area, the hilton didn't) The hotel brags about its adventure pool with the waterslide. But it was soooo overclorinated that it stung our eyes and completely dried out our skin! They charge 5 dollars per person to take a shuttle from the casino! NO OTHER HOTEL DOES THAT! And they didn't even tell us that we had to pay so we had to walk a mile back to the hotel in the cold. The staff was NOT friendly. No one offered to help with luggage. They just stared as we struggled to carry it all. All this is NOT what you'd expect from the famous "4 star hilton"!! Overall we were VERY DISAPPOINTED! We are writing this review to save everyone who is reading this from having a horrible stay like we did!

Great All Around

We stayed at this hotel for two nights recently. We got a terrific price through an on-line booking service, and following the advice of others at this site, did not pay extra for a "fallsview" room. I suspect the hotel was not fully booked, because our room did have a nice view of the American Falls, so this was a nice surprise. We were also surprised that the room had a jacuzzi. The pool was great, and the waterslide was a lot of fun. All of the staff members we came in contact with were very polite and helpful. The restaurant was VERY expensive, at least for breakfast, so we ate at nearby establishments. Looking forward to a return trip!

it was horrible. the maids just walk rite in without asking. all the little kids put things in the breakfast buffet. i almost drowned at the pool and nobody bothered to help me. but i did see harry potter there. daniel radcliffe.but other than that, it sucked

Stayed in a 2 room family suite and everyone really loved it. The suite was clean and the up to date, and the bathroom was one of the best, with stand-up shower and jacuzzi tub. Views were great. Location is really good, and the kids absolutely loved the pool area and waterslide. Breakfast buffet is fantastic, while dinner was also very good but overpriced. Great service from everyone I cam in contact with. My wife insists that we will never stay anywhere else in NF. I recommend this highly.

I read the reviews contained here AFTER booking the hotel for a 2-day weekend getaway (in early May 03) and started to panic a little. It didn't turn out quite as bad as some of these reviews indicated, but, based on our own experience at The Hilton, I would have to say that most of these reviews contain enough accurate smoke to indicate some kind of fire.I concur with the general view here that the Watermark Restaurant is TERRIBLY overpriced for what you get. It's going to run you $150 to $175 for a dinner for 2 (unless you order the flavourless chicken breast at $29.95) What I mean is, with some careful dancing around the menu figures, you could get it down to $150 or so - but I've had much better meals at other places - without any dollar pinching - for $75 to $80. So you don't have to be a math genius to realize the $75 dinner voucher you get on a weekend getaway isn't worth the paper it's printed on. My N.Y. steak (at $44.95) was ok - but I've had equal (or better) for less than half that. The baked potato looked like they saved it from the previous night and re-heated it especially for me. You'd think, at those prices, I wouldn't have had to ask for extra grated parmesan and fresh-ground pepper on my salad; that it would be offered (I grew weary and didn't bother to ask for the pepper) Breakfast was ok (omelettes were good) but the sausage was DREADFUL both mornings - completely dried out. Juice was highly acidic tasting; bacon fine; home fries cold. Drinks in the lounge above the Watermark, as you might expect, were also pricey (our total tab with tip for a double and a single - $30) and we had to serve ourselves at the time we entered (So why did I tip ???)The room view, for us, wasn't bad (near the top)I did get a chance to view the standard room and it was pretty dismal - so don't entirely rule out the higher-priced rooms until you see what you're getting down below. The Jacuzzi did run rusty water for a time (as another here noted) and, no matter what I tried to stop it, water ran underr a little. Jacuzzi fixtures were cheap. I expected great things from the pool based on what was written here but I thought it was over-rated. And MAN...talk about chlorinated !!! My eyes STUNG for an hour afterwards (and I don't ever recall that happening after swimming in a public pool before!) The pool waterfall was "not working" when we were there. Pool was staffed by teens who appeared bored to near suicide (I actually thought the girl monitoring the slide might jump from her 3rd floor perch to the hard deck below !)I asked, at time of booking and again at check-in, for a QUIET room; well, they put a LARGE noisy family beside us after we checked in. As noted here in another review, there were numerous unidentified noises throughout the night (I could hear the coffee maker from the next room) They were many, many other little things that would seem to indicate a lack of attention to detail;(lobby floor washroom near pool - a wicked unflushed toilet nightmare in the men's single stall !!) I've noticed at other Hotels that management seems conspicuous (always watching) but here, management seemed inconspicuous. Perhaps this might explain some of the Hotel's shortcomings; but, whatever the problem, they just haven't got it together yet at the Hilton Niagara Falls. Here's one more thing to remember (if you feel like taking your chances at the Hilton) many noted parking was pricey at $12 per day but I got them to throw in for nothing by simply asking for it. I found the desk people quite willing to haggle. Good luck here, if you dare !

See the Falls in the winter Don't let the fact that it's winter stop you from visiting Niagara Falls. They are equally spectacular then. It's amazing how much ice can coat everything.

Lunch at the Falls Right down at the Falls on the Canadian side there is a restaurant called the Table Rock. It is run by the Park Service and on the second floor of the bulding right at the Falls. Easy to overlook. Has good food at reseasonable prices with an incredible view.

The Falls If you've never been to the falls you have to go - I can't believe so many people have never been to the falls. Go its a fun trip and its not far from OH.
