I and my wife had a nice one week vacation in Niagara Falls in this nice and lovely E-Lodge Motel. The new owners have converted the motel into a cozy and warm welcoming place where everyone would feel home. We've got a great deal for the week stay (we would have paid for just a day stay with any of the big hotels). In addition to the nice and cozy rooms, we were provided with a free parking, free wireless internet (They mentioned that there is a complimentary continental breakfast in summer) and housekeeping everyday! We have never had such a good service in any hotel or motel we have been before: We were welcomed in the Office so friendly from Hannah, after she gave us an option to choose from one of the few vacant rooms. She also explained us where we can go, what we can see and how we can plan our week. We were also very happy with the location - close to everything (even walking distance). We checked the prices at the other motels and hotels in the area we couldn't find better deal, but the most important thing - we couldn't find better place - conveniently located, so green (Park beside) and clean. I am gladly referring E-Lodge to everyone and also I wish the new owners all the best!

You Get What You Pay For

Just so you know, the E-Lodge is ranked as a two star motel. With that in mind, beware - you will get what you paid for.
The price is right and we were staying two nights on a limited budget. The motel is located in a residental part of town. My car broke down and we were lucky to find a mechanic that lived two streets away. He did tell us that the area is not that safe (this is the reason why he and his family were moving away), so beware when walking around the area.

I do have some major complaints. Fist, we were told that the rooms had been renovated. If this is the case, then it was the worst renovation job ever! Also, it was advertised as queen size beds, but were double instead. The room we stayed in was very small, which was not too much of a problem, but could be for a larger family. We also had issues with bugs in the room. We found at least two cockroach looking bugs, plus my sister woke up to finding a bug wondering on the bed around her son's head. We were ready to leave, but since the owner had taken money up front, we didn't think that we would be able to get our money back.

As for positives, the owners are very friendly and it seems as it is a family run place. The hotel also provided free wireless internet which worked very well. It is very close to the Falls, so you don't have to take your car with you when you go out for the day.

I know that if I was going to Niagara again, I would save more money and stay at a nicer hotel. In this case, the cons outweigh the pros.

Made to Feel Welcome and Comfortable

My 11 year old daughter and I arrived in Niagara Falls for a vacation on a very tight budget. This was part of the reason I chose E-Lodge for our stay. The rooms were very affordable. In fact the price seemed too good to be true. They were true however, and a great value considering the comfort and cleanliness of the room. Another reason was the proximity to the falls. We arrived by train and therefor had no vehicle with us. We were a close and direct walk to the tourist area. It took us only 15 minutes to walk to Clifton Hill and that was even with my daughter in a cast on her leg. The best part of our stay at E-Lodge was the friendliness and helpfulness of the owners of the motel. E-Lodge is owned and operated by 2 brothers with the help of their families. They are warm and friendly people who pay special attention to making their guests feel welcome and comfortable. In fact my daughter and I were the recipients of service far beyond what should be expected from an economy motel. Knowing our itinerary we were offered rides to various tourist attractions including Marineland. We were also picked up to return to the motel. At the end of our stay we were driven to the train station. This was very kind and the money saved on transportation wa able to be put towards enhancing our stay in Niagara.
So to recap the rooms were clean, comfortable and affordable for the small budget traveler; the proximity to tourist attractions was ideal; the operators and their families were warm and courteous; the extras provided ie. driving us to and from attractions to buy groceries and the train station were a blessing. Thank you E-lodge and Abid and family for making our stay a happy and memorable one.

We stayed in the motel for two nights and found it nice, accurate, clean and conveniently located. Price for a room for 2 adults, 2 kids and 1 baby was more than reasonable for 10-minutes walking distance to the Centre Street. If I spend more time in Niagra Falls, I would definitely use E-lodge again.

We stayed here while on a cross country bicycle tour. It's a great little motel in a quiet neighborhood but close to the tourist area. The rooms were small but very clean and the beds were comfortable. I loved our spacious shower. Abid was a wonderful host and treated us like family. We would strongly recommend the E-Lodge.

I could not help but totally disagree. The review of 1 out of 10 is just not right. I found the staff very courtious and helpful. The motel was by far one of the cleaniest motels I've stayed at in the Niagara Falls area. That review is just rubbish. The motel is located in a very seclusive area. One can just have their R & R.

I normally do not post reviews, but I felt I had to upon reading the only review up on this site for this motel. After reading the 1 out of 10 review on this page one night before my stay, I was very nervous about what I had gotten into, but once I got there, it was nothing like stated in that review. The rooms were clean, the staff was friendly, and the rates were very reasonable. Also, it was just out of the budyt path of the falls, but no more then a 5 minute walk to all the main attractions of Niagara Falls. As well, the statement of it being a motel used my hookers, was nothing short of a lie. This motel was located in the suburban area just directed surrounding the main falls area. Nowhere near the seedy "hooker" area of town. (A nowhere part of town with nothing but stripclubs and rundown motels, which was more then a 25 minute DRIVE from the motel.). So, if you are looking for a very affordable, cozy motel, right on the heart of the main part of town, this give you by far the best deal. Will definitely recommend.

September 2005 - My fiancee and I found this motel online equipped with pictures. The prices were great (about $60 CAN a night) and it looked like a cute tidy motel so we made our resevations for three days.
My cousin and her fiancee were also joining us on the trip and made their reservations too. When we got there the clerk showed us the first room. It was a double. The room smelt musty and moldy, the carpet was greusome, and the bedding was an old worn out velux blanket with a horse on it like you'd get at Walmart. My fiance pointed out a stain on it and asked "is that a blood stain?" It didn't look anything like what it did in the online pictures and the four of us began to contort our faces in dissaprouval. The middle-eastern man then showed us four other rooms in the tiny 12 room dump and the rooms got worse as we went. We got to another double room that is directly beside the office and walked inside. The bed was made........that was about it. There was absolutely NO CLEANINGING done to this room. There was toothpaste splatter all over the mirror, hair in the tub and the toilet was dirty. It was then that my fiancee says again "there is SEMEN on the bed". Yes your read this right, SEMEN. On the wood head board between the two sets of pillows was many white splatters in a vertical pattern. Come on, we all know what semen looks like!!! A virgin could figure it out! I said to everyone trying to be optimistic -should have know better- that is could be a stain of some kind and I bet it would not even wipe off. Well, i got a wad of toilet paper, wet it and half of it came off. I threw the paper to the floor and we all said not a chance. I doubt they even changed the bedding from the previous occupants. We walked out to the parking lot where the middle eastern man was standing and bluntly stated without trying to hide my disgust that he had semen on the bed. He acted surprised like he didn't know the rooms were dirty. My fiancee showed him the ditry bathroom and the semen on the bed. He tried to tell us the semen was a chemical cleaner and that the bathroom wasn't clean cause he had a new cleaner working for the motel. I told him he saw what we were talking about and we refused to stay. He stopped us as we were leaving and told us he was going to put through a charge on our credit cards for one night stay because we didnt take the room. When we made the reservations he never said anything about a charge to cancell, especially due to their ideas that coustomers should not have rooms cleaned after their previous guests had left. We told him that we would not pay it, the rooms were dirty and their issues with their cleaners was their problem not ours. He said in 5 years he had never had a single complaint, my fiance said,"consider this your first". We called up our credit card companies and informed them of the situation. We told them that we had no services rendered and did not sign a transaction slip for anything with the E-Lodge on Stamford St. and told them we would not pay for the transaction if it went through. They said that they would watch for the debit and then dispute it if it came through. As they put it, there are ways of making these things dissapear. Anyway as of today the E-Lodge did what they claim they were going to do and took a nights stay from our credit cards. What an easy living, stealing from people and preying on the unexpecting. We are disputing it as of now. Later, I found out that that is prostitute territority and that motel is frequented by hookers.

If anyone is looking for a cheap clean motel on a small budget and they want to be right beside Clifton Hill, I reccommend The Niagara Family Inn. It is CAA certified! (E-Lodge is not- big surprise.) It's located on Ellen Street right off Lundy's lane. The Building is shared with Big Anthony's Restaurant, it's enterance comes out on Victoria Avenue and has a door that leads right to the Niagara Family Inn above it. It is literally a 2 minuite walk to all the major attractions and about 8 minuites to Victoria Park where you can see both the American and Canadian falls. All for $60 a night. Hope this review helps!!
