Tower, Tower, Tower

from A TripAdvisor Member
This is the best hotel room I have ever seen. Upon arriving at the hotel, I see this beautiful tower. We got our room in the tower. Do Not stay in the motel. It is not worth it, spend the extra $20 and get a tower room. We stayed two nights and got the package deal for $149 canadian. We had dinner at the excellent Remmington of Montana's Steak house ($50 credit voucher for the restaraunt). We also got breakfast each morning which was very good.

The rooms in the tower are brand new and very spacious. They were the biggest room I have ever seen in a hotel. We had a giant bay window in our room which overlooked the city. (we arrived at the hotel early and wanted a room more than a view. No rooms were available at that time in the front.) I hear and will confirm on our next trip that on the top floor there are partial views of the falls. The bath tubs have jets in them, like a mini jacuzzi. Very Nice.

The hotel is across the street from the Casino. We went to the Casino a couple times a night. When you get bored, we went back to our room, swam, sat in our jacuzzi tub, wathced tv, then went back to the casino. Very nice.

I recomend this hotel to everyone. Get a tower room.

Great Location...Good Price!

Just returned from our trip to Niagara Falls. We Stared from Friday (11/5/04) to Sunday (11/07/04). It was my first time to the falls, and the place is pretty cool. The Hotel is conveniently located directly across the street from the Casino Niagara, about a half block to the Clifton hill attaractions, one block from the American Falls, and about a 20 Minute walk to the Canadian Falls. We recieved a daylight sagings promotion, and the room cost $154 CAN (with tax) for the 2 nights. Our room was in the older section of the Days Inn complex. It was clean, but a bit dark. The shower had very poor preasure or volume. But for the amount of time we spent in the room, it was tolerable.

We ate at the Remmington Restaurant. The prime rib was tasty, and the restaurant was nice and located right next door to the hotel. It was a bit pricy, but so is every other place at niagara falls. The current exchange rate is about $1 US = $1.19 CAN. Keep that in mind!!! You won't get as much as you would have years ago when the exchange was $1 US = $1.50 CAN. The Beer and food is expensive anywhere you go in the Niagara Falls area. If you are planning to get drunk at the falls you can do one of two things:
1.) Bring Several Cases or bottle with you from the US (we brought 2 cases), or
2.) Bring a LOT of MONEY!!! Because you are going to need it.

You may want to use a credit card to make you purchases, b/c you get the best exchange rate for that day.

Places to see:
- American Falls
- Horseshoe Falls (Canadian Falls)
- Table Rock
- Fallsview Casino
- Casino Niagara
- Maid of the Mist (Closed while we were there)
- Screamers or Nightmares Haunted House (Not scary, take your wife or girlfriend)
- Skyline Tower
- Hooters (well...Not that great....The one in Atlantic City is better)

PLACES to STAY AWAY FROM:
- Niagara Falls Sushi....DO NOT GO THERE!!!! VERY , VERY BAD!!!!
I would say this is the worst meal I ever had in my life!!

Other then the high prices on everything, we had a good time!!
To Good times and good friends....For-ever!!!

Not worth the money.

Room was dark and dreary with a terrible view of the top level of the hotel. We could only get 2 channels on the T.V.!

The room itself was clean

You would think that the price of the room, they could give you a cup of coffee in the morning!

Very Nice, Great Time

The secret word is TOWER, TOWER, TOWER, stay in the new tower. We stayed August 3rd and 4th, 2004 and had the two night package, with breakfast two mornings at Applebees and a dinner at Remingtons of Montana next door. We were never given a bill at Applebees for breakfast. We were allowed $50 at Montana's, had prime rib and lobster tail, and owed two dollars. Our room was 707 and we could see the American Falls from the window. The people at Days Inn were nice and the Applebees waitresses were grumpy. The Tower is right across the street from the old Casino Niagara and the free shuttle is there to go to the new magnificient Falls Casino. Do eat at their wonderful buffet overlooking the falls. We walked down Clifton Hill street to the Maid of the Mist and to the Duty Free Store at the Rainbow Bridge. There is a $5 coupon for the Duty Free Store, we forgot to use. No trouble or lines in or out of Canada. Do stay at the Tower, it is new and nice.

Double-Billed, No Assistance From Management

from A TripAdvisor Member
Hotel facilities seemed okay, up front. But their billing practices are, in my opinion, highly questionable. I stayed only one night and paid in cash for the stay, $120.00 in US currency. I didn't use any of the special services or accessories that cost extra, just the bed at night and a shower in the morning. The room wasn't as cheap as the web advertised, and I had to leave a credit card number just to reserve a room. Then my credit card statement arrived a month later, showing two additional charges to the tune of $10.49 US and $75.77 US. Even after I had verified at checkout that my bill was clear, the hotel had erroneously billed my credit card either for services that I didn't use, or for a room that I had already paid for in cash. I attempted to call the hotel on several occasions over a two-week period to resolve this mistake, all with no success. Each time I called, the hotel's receptionist referred my call to a voice-mail for me to leave a message. No phone call was ever returned. Even when I tried to speak with management, I was told the manager was away for an "emergency meeting" and would call me back later. Nearly two months into it, no resolve has been achieved. I guess the philosophers of old were right, "Caveat emptor", "Let the buyer beware". I got fleeced twice for one ride, and can't seem to get the hotel to act like any "honest" business sensitive to its patrons and fix this mess in a timely fashion.

Not for young families

from A TripAdvisor Member
After driving 9 hours with three young children, we finally arrive. We also were in the back in the section they refer to as their courtyard section. We were on the second floor and this was very difficult with a baby carriage because there is no ramp. The room is clean enough but there was no refrigerator and we had to keep the baby's milk on ice in a garbage can. There is no coffee machine anywhere and you have no choice but to go to the restaurant that is attached to the hotel and pay 3.00 per cup. (outrageous). The women at the front desk need a major attitude adjustment. When I checked in, I was told I had to park all the way in the garage when there were pleanty of spaces in the parking lot. After driving into the garage, we were afraid our van wasn't even going to make it underneath. There were no spaces so we wind up parking next to the maintenance room and lugging our luggage with the three kids up the steps, however, after speaking to one of the maintenance guys (they were very nice) we moved the van and did not care what miss pompous front desk lady said. Our air conditioner also leaked. For the money you are paying to stay there they can at least give you a cup of coffee in the morning. Bottom line, if you have young children I would not recommend it, I would recommend the comfort inn and quality inn at clifton hill. They look lovely and are perfect for young families.

Gross Gross Gross!

Funny, I was told over the phone that the Days Inn Clifton Hill was the nicest Days Inn there in Niagara Falls. Ive stayed in better Motel 8s! The room was outdated along with all the fixtures. The room smelled of dank damp and funky. It was pretty disgusting. I too was in the back with a standard room. But I figured it cant be all that bad for $129-149 a night. It wasnt even worth $40.00 a night. What a rip! Thank goodness we were only sleeping in there and not there to relax. I think if they need to be truthful abou how skanky the back part of the motel is. The main building rooms may be nice and new but geez get with the program and update the rest of the hotel especially if they are going to charge that much for crap.!

Great Hotel

We drove to Niagara Falls for the day and when we got there decided to spend the night. We drive by The Days Inn Clifton Hill and decided to stop and see how much it was. We paid $149.00 for the night and very much enjoyed our stay. This hotel is brand new and more than we could expect. The hotel was very clean and staff was friendly. I am a little confused regarding the some of the other comments regarding this hotel. We would recommend anyone to stay in this hotel. They do have an older section but we stayed in the new tower and very much loved our stay. This hotel is getting a bad review by people who are to cheap to pay a little extra for a nicer room.

Number 1 !!!

This hotel is gorgeous. Brand Spanking New Gorgeous! The rooms in the new tower were nicer than half of the "4 star hotels" we've stayed in. We've stayed at the Brock (tiny little dumpy rooms) the Shereton On the Falls (old old old) and the Hampton Inn (cramped and dark) down the street and now that we've tried the Days Inn Clifton Hill, they have our repeat business every time! After reading some of these reviews I can see why you might not wat to try it. Well, listen to me... you get what you pay for. And this hotel has something for everyone. OBVIOUSLY the motel section is not going to be as nice. Thats why it costs less. Motels are for people who are just looking for a place to sleep and it burns me up that people expect the absolute best of everything for nothing. The hotel is GREAT. Dont take my word for it. Try it yourself. If you're looking for a nice clean big room thats all brand new, stay in the tower section. If you want to be a little more economical, then stay in the courtyard motel section. Its a place to rest your head. But then dont complain you arent in the tower at the same rate. As for the supposed "weirdos" checking in... I dont know about you, but the person who wrote that sounds like a bit of a weirdo to me!

Not what I expected...........

We stayed at this place for 1 night. I must say first, the location is good. It is in the heart of it all. BUT, the rooms are very worn. Don't waste your money on a whirlpool room. It was so cheesy and icky, we didn't go in. This place is old, and looks it too. There are plenty of other places to stay in the area....go elsewhere!!

Top Local Tips for Niagara Falls

Don't believe the prices advertised outside the resturants. If your see a sign outside a resturant advertising prime rib dinner for 15.95. Ask before going in this price is not true you will end up spending close to 85.00 dollars for two. Their are alot misleading resturant advertising falsely. For a breakfast buffet advertised at 6.99 all you can eat. Came to 22.99 for two people. They charge for coffee, your better off going to a better known chain to eat.

Park away from the Falls in the Clifton Hill area Avoid parking at the 'official' Falls parking area. Park up by the Clifton Hill area, the prices are much cheaper plus you can walk through this fun area to get to the falls and then walk back and enjoy the best of both worlds.

Casinos There are a couple of Casinos in the area to chose from if you're into gambling.
