We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Aston Michael's Inn by the Falls. We met the owner while in the hot tub and she very kindly upgraded our room to the honeymoon suite at no extra cost. We truly felt like royalty during our stay and have recommended Aston Michael's Inn to many people.

My wife and I have stayed twice at Aston Michael's Inn in Niagara Falls. Each time we enjoyed the convenience of the location since we can easily walk to downtown and the Falls. It was also pleasant to have friendly staff and a nice restaurant and lounge in the hotel.

I checked in at the hotel at 4 pm on this past Columbus day weekend, and was very disappointed. After spending $100 on their standard falls view room, I was given a stinky first floor room. The worst part was that the river nor the falls was visible from our balcony. After a big complain to the front desk, we got the third floor room that was much better. Yet, it wasn't worth $100 USD. I could stay at a similar place for $60.

Would stay again at the INN

from A TripAdvisor Member
We really enjoyed our stay at the Inn. Priced very fairly. The rooms were exceptionally clean and well kept. We loved the location-it was walking distance from all the attractions. My 2 year old enjoyed the kiddie pool and we enjoyed the hot tub. The only reason why I am not giving it an excellent rating is because the staff was just ok. Would definetely stay again!

A nice place to stay, if other hotel guests behave themselves

We spent the night at Michael's Inn on July 17, 2005 on our way home from Boston. We arrived around 9:30 p.m. and chose to stay in a non falls view room for $128 USD $147.20 with all taxes. (We could actually see the falls from our balcony and if it wouldn't have been so hot and muggy it would have been a great place to sit and enjoy our breakfast.)

Our room was #111 and was large, clean and odor free. We had 2 double beds a tv, desk and a table with chairs. Our room also had a small balcony with sliding glass doors. Staff was very friendly at check in.

We went ahead and walked down to the falls about 3 blocks or so and then up the hill to eat at the Hard Rock Cafe. I would not recommend doing this alone or later at night like we did. There were very few people out when we walked back to the Inn.

Our room had excellant air-conditioning and kept us cool from the hot and humid weather. Bathroom was very nice also with adequate water pressure.

The one bad part of our stay was at 3a.m. we were woken up out of a deep sleep because there was a loud banging and what sounded like glass breaking. We thought it was another guest who was drunk and couldn't find their room or something like that. Then it became quiet again. I got up and double checked our door and also made sure the phone was nearby incase we needed to call the front desk. We were able to get back to sleep and didn't have any more problems.

Parking could be a problem for anyone who has trouble walking because it is on a hill and there is more parking in another lot but that requires going up and down some steps.

Will definately give this hotel a second chance next time I am in the area. Will also recommend others try this hotel. Ell

Fantastic

Love this place, we have stayed here many times without any problems.
Pool is fantastic with a sun deck to die for. The rooms are well kept and always clean.

Highly recommened and been going for over 30 years.

Watch out for the pool/hot tub area!!!

from A TripAdvisor Member
We have been going to Michael's Inn for approximately three years now. We have yet to be able to use the pool and hot tub due to high chemical content. We could barely walk through the doors to get to the pool area. We tried to swim on each occasion (this would have been our 5th time visiting) and the water actually stung our eyes from the chemical. We have spoke to the staff every single time we have gone there and complained each time. We were advised different reasons for the chemicals being so strong each and every time. We were told that they have to keep the chemicals strong to keep the pool and hot tub clean (which is so not true - we're pool and hot tub owners and that much chemical is not necessary at all). Then we were told someone was looking into it. And the last time we visited (at the end of January 2005) we were advised yet again that someone would be looking into it. If you're coming here to swim, don't come. If you just want a reasonable room, close to all amenities, then this place will do. It is clean and very reasonable, but like I said, you can't use the swimming facilities. At least we haven't been able to in the past three years. Such a shame 'cause they look so inviting.

re Coming Back!

from A TripAdvisor Member
We had a wonderful weekend at Michael's Inn! All the front desk and bar staff(let's say we ran into 5 or 6 during our stay) were extremely friendly and accommodating. The rooms are quaint and comfy, not to mention spotless, as is the entire inn! The beds were very comfortable as well. We enjoyed Sunday night in the pool/jacuzzi/sauna all alone looking out the large windows at the flashy lights of Planet Hollywood and the Casino. Free Parking-Big Bonus! Location is a walk to Casino Niagara, shopping and restaurants. Had it not been the end of February and freezing, we could have walked to the Tourist Area, but opted to have the front desk clerk call us a cab whick was only $4.00 each way to be in the heart of it all! We are already planning another trip and will be staying here again.
I booked on the internet and had doubts about the pictures being as they were depicted. You get exactly what you see, which is exactly what we wanted. The price cannot be beat, and we will not look for another place to stay in Niagara! We did get a peek at a Suite(gorgeous!) and may upgrade next time.
Keep up the exceptional service- we'll see you soon! K & G

Excellent place to stay in Niagara Falls, Ontario

from A TripAdvisor Member
My husband and I live in the Finger Lakes area of New York State and try to get to Niagara Falls, Canada for a weekend each season. We have stayed in several of the Fallsview hotels in the past couple of years but never tried Michael's Inn until last weekend. It was great!
The hotel is extremely clean with attractive decor and the staff are helpful and attentive. The parking is included in the hotel price and you can walk to the original Niagara Falls casino in less than 2 mintues. We had a nice sized room that was spotless and faced the Niagara River. It had all the amentities that we could have wanted (i.e coffee maker, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, newspaper each day) and many TV channels. Standing on the balcony we could see the Falls. There is a nice indoor pool and a small but bright fitness center that is included in the price. We will definately stay at Michael's again. Next time we will book the package so that our meals are included. We hear that the restaurant is very good.

s Inn

My husband and I stayed at Michael's Inn several years ago (before kids) and recalled our time there as enjoyable ... so when it came time for a return trip to Niagara (this time with kids in tow) we again booked at Michael's Inn. We just returned from our trip and have no regrets. The rooms are clean and less expensive than those available at the bigger chain hotels, the restaurant is family friendly (and the food itself is good--try the fish and chips dinner!--which does not always go hand-in-hand with kid-friendly), and the service was very helpful. Michael's Inn is a very short walk from the American Falls and also a good location from which to visit all the other attractions, including Ontario-on-the-Lake. Michael's also has an indoor pool, including a pool area for kids--a good find at a hotel of Michael's relatively small size. On this trip our room had a balcony overlooking the river. Rooms are average in size, but we did notice larger rooms just off the elevator banks (suites, perhaps?). We've recommended Michael's to friends over the years, and if we ever return to Niagara Falls, we would definitely book there again.

Excellent value for a family!

This is a great hotel for anyone with kids. They have a terrific pool (water temperature was perfect) with a jacuzzy, kids pool and sauna. The room we stayed in was old-fashioned but very clean. We paid a bargain price (for Niagara Falls) because our room overlooked the parking lot and had only a small window (semi-basement room). They even have free parking!

The only thing I can criticize about the room is the fact that there was no fan in the bathroom and the faucets in the tub turned the opposite direction (dangerous for kids).

The hotel is within walking distance to Clifton Hill, the casino and the falls. The house keeping staff was exceptionally friendly and did a terrific job.

You get your monies worth and then some

Great place to stay at a decent price. Close to the Casino and they have some terrific specials!

Great value

from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed at the Michael's Inn one June weekend. The desk staff (plural) were very unfriendly, as if angered that we had booked the Casino Real Deal. We arrived at 2:45 pm and were told to wait until 3:00 before they could let us have the room. We sat in the lobby and waited. Our room was very nice, on the back of the hotel, with a view of the casino. Despite the very nice room, the free parking, the superior pool and hot tub, we never returned because we felt we were "unwelcomed" guests at this hotel. I would go back, but my husband says no.
