We planned to go shopping in the famous St Jacob's market near the hotel. We arrived and checked in with no problem. That's where the enjoyment stopped. We went up to the 4th floor. The hallways are dark and there are water stains on the walls and carpet. We attempted to open our room door, but the room was so small that the door hits the bed, the bedspreads were orange and about 30 years old. The rooms were heated and air conditioned by a window unit that took up the bottom half of the window (so much for the view). We spoke to the front desk and told them we couldn't stay in the room as it was claustrophobic, we were moved to the fifth floor where the hallways not only were covered with water stains, but reeked of curry or some other spice. The second room was larger, but the mattresses were like sleeping on plywood and the windows were covered by AC/Heating units. I'm glad we were able to get a room at the Best Western in St Jacobs for our second night. We were truly dissapointed with this hotel, which charged $150 per night for absolutely nothing. Oh and by the way, after 10pm the elevators are turned off, so you have to lug your bags up 4 or 5 flights of stairs. Horrible!

stay at the Delta! get yourself a good night's rest...forget the Walper, stay at the Delta (105 King St. E.) instead...much nicer rooms, very helpful staff, and rooms built post-Reagan (i.e. they're clean, quiet and things work!)
