Peace and quiet. Clean and tidy, a GOOD bed ensured a restful night. The enthusiastic owners had become friends within the week. If you want GREAT food on a par with the best of Europe's Michelin restaurants, this is where you'll get it. Kevin is passionate about food and it shows. The views of Mary lake are breathtaking. Wildlife? A Doe and her 2 fawns came as close as 5 metres from our cabin even while we were present!! Fantastic. We even had a chipmunk giving us the once over while we had coffee on the porch. The area has captured my heart therefore my wife and I will most likely revisit Bill and Shelby next year - this time with friends in tow. We have truly enjoyed our stay and will recommend anyone to go and be treated like royalty even on a tight budget.

It was truely a great experience. I would not change it for the world. No regrets at all. I can understand why you may have felt you were undersold but with a small staff, what can you expect? I cannot comment on how the food tasted since we brought our own but their menu was exceptional. The accomadations were exactly what the pictures on their website. The outdoor experience was exceptional. A lot of activities such as canoeing, boating, peddling, tennis, billiard are included in the cost of the accomadation. All of the activities are at no extra cost. What more does one want? 25 minutes away from Algonquin. A home away from home. Moreover, the staff and the owner are very amiable. Also, they are constantly surveying the property with an eagle eye. This means, almost all of your needs are catered to and you are reassured about comfort. There is the utmost sense of security even in he night when you can hear your own heart beat. The water unlike city water is not chlorinated, so its a different taste and look. But its just as healthy as the city water if not more. Gryffin Lodge is a home away from the city where the humble owner warmly welcomes you and sees you off as well. There is no comparison to the big name hotels out there.

Close to Algonquin Park for the changing of the leaves, Gryffin is an intimate property on the water with a very nice restaurant and a cozy variety of rooms. A great place for a couple of days getaway.
