I've never been to a motel that I had to actually had to go back and get a refund for before packing up and leaving before spending the night there. The place appears clean but is: run down, has cheap furnishings, bathroom door will not shut, has a bug trap on the floor, seethrough curtains, ancient rugs and bedsheets, a heater that blows out dust, a tiny television set that looks like it was pulled out of the spring clean-up (although it did have cable!), and bed frames made out of 2x8 slats. Did I mention the smell? I had to leave after a couple hours of stay there because there is a substance in the air which was causing my family to suffer nausea and sore throats. I don't know what this mystery atmosphere consisted of, but it was absolutely dreadful and extremely pervasive. The closest thing I can imagine to describe it is some sort of super disinfectant odor which we could actually taste and cough up several hours later. Plus, the fee for this poor lodging was atrocious: $106 for our family, which I could see paying if I was at a good motel with good rooms and features, but this place shouldn't even be operating if the other rooms are in the condition that ours was in. I am sorry to have to write this, but the conditions were unsafe, unhealthy, and unaesthetic.
On the other hand, I am pleased to report that the management did give us a full refund when we demanded it.
