My husband and I stayed at the Bluffs a number of times during the last few years. We found the rooms very comfortable and clean. The renovated rooms are especially cozy. As well the grounds are quite nice & spacious. In addition we found the hosts to be helpful and available at all times. We have reccommended it to family and friends.

We had a great stay once again. My wife and I have been to the motel through many owners over many years. The new owners have done more than any one past to up date and the motel one room at a time. They should get a few more BBQ as we were in a line up for the two they had. It seems that everyone that weekend made use of the BBQ's. Years ago the walk to Union Rd beech use to take 15 minutes but to make the sunset we now we permit a good 30 minutes. We have always enjoyed the Goderich area and we are now using the motel as our head quarters for our retirement home search. The new owners know the area quite well and have been very helpful directing us to the best areas for seniors. We will miss staying at the motel when we live in the area but who knows we might stay for old time sake.

Thanks for everything

If this was 'beautifully furnished' it was lost on me. It looked more like pre Walton era(throwback to Walton's Mountain TV show) - early 40's. I never saw so many spider webs in a room. While it wasn't filthy, it wasn't clean either. Absolutely pathetic TV (at least 30-years-old) - looked like watching a "ViewMaster" through a film of Vasaline. It was sort of like a motel that you would see in a horror film. Won't go back in this lifetime.

Stay clear of this place! The rooms were dirty and so outdated. Cob-webs everywhere. Hello?...Who runs a business like this? The pillows were as flat as pancakes and the rates for a place like this were extremely off sensibility. Went to the office to return key and a man wearing a white no sleeve undershirt says rudly "you could have left it in your room." Not - oh thank you, how was your stay? Have a good day! Not good all around.

In the description of this hotel on their own website there are many lies. Firstly the beach is NOT a 10 minute walk by foot, more like a 15 minute DRIVE!!! the rooms are NOT renovated as we were told and they are certainly not "beautifully furnished". In fact, the rooms were dirty, (found food under the bed!!), cobwebs everywhere and nothing has been maintained. the owner, (the man) is rude and arrogant and never made us feel welcome. We walked around the place like he was some sort of prison guard!! the hotel rates on the website are incorrect as well and the owners are just charging whatever they feel like charging.
It was'nt worth a penny to stay at this place!! Perhaps these people should clean up their act and fix the place up so it is at least presentable for the average traveller. I would have rather stayed in a tent!!!!!

Top Local Tips for Goderich

World Class Fresh Water Beaches Highway #21 or Bluewater Highway beguines in Sarnia and follows the coast of Lake Huron for over 200 Kilometers right up to Tobermory. Access to the public beaches can be found all along the way. Some of the best beaches are to be found between Grandbend and Goderich as many municipalities have access some un-marked and some marked accesses all of witch are worth the looking into. Fine dining to ma “n” pa’s breakfasts to large to finish are easy to find all along the way. Accommodation is rather limited and with only about 300 rooms in the area with price ranges from $79 up to $350 per night visitors should call ahead to be sure of lodging. This is a great place to get to from any direction and at any time as we are only 175 KM from Toronto and 55 km from the US border in Sarnia.

Blacks Point beach, just north of our motel. The area beach yet un decovered by the masses. 5 miles of the best freash water beach on Lake Huron. When my wife and i arrived at the beach, we doubled the population. We will bring our dog next time. We had no idea that we could bring the dog to the beach and the motel,(petfriendly.ca.)
