I find it a very nice place to check in. The rooms are simple, clean and well served. You get what you paid for. The manager is very friendly and has a great sense of humor!

A Good Night Sleep is what i look for when i come to Halifax and not many hotels or motels offer that. Wireless internet service would be an asset for the Expresslodge.

On Fri The 29th of July At around 2:00pm, my Wife and I Stopped at the Express Lodge Motel. The sign on the pole said it was a 4 star. We paid about $175.00 for 2 nights. When we got to our room, we got to see what the owner called 4 star. The room was dank, smelly, and the A/C didn't work. My wife said 'I don't want to stay here.' The bathroom was a fright. We went back to the office to get our money back. The man at the desk said 'No I will not refund your money' My wife said the A/C in the room doesn't even work and it's hot in there. He went to the room and fiddled with the knobs on the A/C and said you have to give it 10 min to start working. My wife said it doesn't take 10 min for A/C to get cool. He left. My wife sat on the bed. Then the phone rang and it was the Clerk who was just in the room. My wife started to talk to the man. She began to say 'Don't shout at me!' Then she hung up the phone. She said 'He told me to F**K OFF!' We went back to the office. He said my wife told him to F**K OFF first and he would not give us a Recipt. We left the Motel after staying there for only 15 mins that cost us $175.00. And stayed at another Hotel. I would have to say it was the worst thing that my Wife and I have ever gone through on Vacation.

I wrote this Letter to Mr Wickens that asked me why he should stay at ExpressLodge after Mr Butler`s review .
Dear Mr. Wickens:
You do not have to stay here at all! Do you expect us to solve your family problems and give you your money back after a room has been used? There are two sides to every story and you just sent me Mr. Butlers version. If you just read his story and believe it, well you should not be staying here. The fact is, I was the one renting the room to Mr. Butler and his wife. After almost two hours Mrs. Butler and her husband came to me and said that the a/c was not working in their room. I went and promptly checked it only to find that it was turned on to provide heat, not cold air! As soon as I told Mrs. Butler that they turned the heat on she became extremely agitated and belligerent with me! I immediately left the room and told her I would check in with her later to make sure everything was acceptable and if I had to I would make another room available to accommodate her and her husband. When I called her about fifteen minutes later she started screaming at me and she said some words I am not willing to repeat. She then came to the office and left the key at the desk and took off in her car without saying anything. About a half an hour later a man with a superman shirt on came to the office and asked me to forgive his brothers wife and he described her as 'hot headed', those were his exact words. He also stated the she brings embarrassment to his brother when she acts that way. He asked me to refund her money. I then asked him to send her to the office to request the money back herself, along with an apology. I have never seen her since she left the key at the desk and took off. Later on her husband and his brother (superman) came and threatened me. I am relieved that I lost them as customers because I do not need customers like this. They can do me the favor and spread the word among their friends and in this way I do not have to deal with similar situations in the future.
