Got stuck at the Misty Lake on a work trip, as the Lakeview was fully booked. Never again!! We were charged $149 a night for the Executive Room, stating that they were almost fully booked, and this was all that was available. I can only believe this was a downright lie in order to squeeze more revenue, as in our two nights there, the place was pretty much deserted, an there were less than 10 cars in the parking lot each day. As for the room itself, it is dated, dirty and disgusting. The carperts didn't looked like they had been cleaned or vacuumed in a while, there were cobwebs in every corner, and I would not use the water glasses or ice bucket provided without a tetanus shot first. The doors both have a handle lock only, and the lock on the door to the outside is the same as you would put on your garage. In fact, I moved the sofa in front of that door every night because it is so unsecured. The funniest part is that there is a sign on the door telling you to take your key as the door locks automatically behind you, and when I checked the door, it wasn't locked at all. Overall, I would maybe pay $69 per night to stay at Misty Lake. It's a total rip-off at $149.

Romantic Getaway?

The romantic getaway package includes an Executive suit, however not all the suits are the same. Some have the 2 person tub, or the king bed, or the large plasma TV. None of the rooms have all three, but you pay the same price. We had the 2 person tub room. THE ROOM Cons: Dated, old furniture, creeky uncomfortable mattress, cheap sheets and standard biege blanket. There is a sink and mini fridge built-in unit. It's quite tacky looking and the fridge was loud. There was only 1 night stand which I found wierd given it was a double bed and there were cob webs on the fire place and lamps. I was expecting a bit more for $250 a night. Pros: Nice fire place and picture window looking on to the lake. BATHROOM Nice, clean and fresh looking. The seperate shower was a bit small and the shower head was quite low. I'm 5.7' and I found I had to duck to rinse my hair. FOOD Good, quite tasty actually. Breakfast was a bit greasy so ask to hold the grease on your eggs. The service in the dining room was good too. POOL AND HOT TUB The hot tub had a nice fat brown ring around it. But the patio furniture was a nice touch. Pool was ok too. I would not go to this place again because it's not worth the money. Hope this helps someone.

It's Wonderful!! I was there for a wedding in August 2008, it was wonderful, the food was excellent. The staff and service was magnificent, very friendly always making sure you had everything you needed. The rooms were lovely and spottless. The manager is a lovley woman who went out of her way to make sure every little detail was perfect. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone. I will definitely be going back there.

Absolutely Disgusting

We reserved the "deluxe" chalet at a rate of $400 per night. This is what we got: 1) Moths in the fridge freezer 2) Worms crawling on the rug - our one year old nearly ate one of them 3) Fish flys all along the baseboards 4) Extremely uncomfortable double bed 5) We had to request that someone come and actually vacuum the chalet as it was clearly obvious that the only thing that happened prior to our check in was clean towels placed in the rooms. 6) Holes in the screens, therefore, we couldn't even open the windows. 7) We went through 2 cans of Raid as we had to spray down the entire chalet prior to going to sleep so that we wouldn't have bugs falling on us from the ceiling. 8) We attempted to use the pool - both times NO TOWELS AVAILABLE...WE HAD TO WAIT 20 MINS FOR TOWELS!! 9) We offered to pay $20/day for a "large BBQ" - instead we had to use an old rusted excuse for a BBQ. When we called the front desk, they claimed that we were completely incorrect. 10) At check out time (when they already knew our issues about the disgusting state the chalet was in) I had to stand there and argue with the clerk who then spent 10 mins in the office with the manager, just to get a discount in our bill - which happened to be the regular non-long weekend rate. In summary - you'd have to be completely insane to want to stay at this establishment.

Poorly Run

Stayed for 2 nights on vacation - the room was new and the beds comfortable, but that was about all that was good. No soap or phone in the room. Had to check in at the main hotel and drive to where our room was - about a 10 min. drive, and they had given use the wrong key! When we phoned to let them know it was a mistake and we couldn't get in, they didn't believe us! Eventually they said they would send someone with the proper key - after 20 min, we phoned again to see what the hold-up was, and were given a hard time - we asked to speak to the manager, and she was downright rude. We would have left immediately had we not needed a place to sleep. The man who eventually delivered the key (a full 45 min after we initially checked in!) said that they were having trouble with poor management and lots of staff turnover. The second day of our stay, we met people standing in the lobby (who had biked there and looked exhausted) who had the same key mix-up. I certainly would NOT recommend this resort.
