Beautiful Hotel

We stayed at the Westin in late November for a few days of our honeymoon. Everything was wonderful. Our room was on the 9th floor and overlooked the Whistler gondola. Our room had a fireplace, and comfortable sitting area. We also loved the extremely well equiped kitchen. I have stayed at many hotels in the past where the "kitchen" had a few old plates and pans. Everything at the Westin was clean and new! Great for having breakfast in the room! We had considered staying at the Fairmont Chateau, but after staying at the Westin, we were very glad we chose it. The location in the village is perfect. Also loved the spa/pool area. I would highly recomend this hotel!!!

Great Hotel

We stayed one night in mid-August. From the valet parking through to departing the next day the whole of our stay was one smooth experience.
Our suite on the Prefered Guest floor was fantastic. The outdoor pool great - there is nothing like swimming in sight of mountains! Room service prompt and well presented
Our room rate was the bargin of our trip

Mediocre At Best

This was our third stop on a two-week honeymoon throughout British Colombia and was the weakest link! Superior service and welcoming hospitality was abundant throughout our travels with the exception of the Westin Whistler. Staff was lack-luster, food quality was average and the rooms were not up to Westin's standards. Plaques were displayed in the lobby that mentioned that the property is merely affialiated with the Westin brand - and it showed! When we returned from dinner one evening we found that a piece of framed art had fallen off the wall - leaving black tape and ugly bare wall for our entire stay. Additionally, there were dead bugs near the windows of our suite. All & all the experience was dissapointing for the money we spent.

Great Hotel, Poor Service

Location - Fantastic, a short stroll to shops and restaurants, but far enough away from any noise from the bars in the evening.
The hotel itself was beautiful, heavenly bath and bed both lovely.
My 11 year old daughter burnt her hand on a reading lamp, luckily there was ice in the room and we were able to act promptly, as a means of apology for the faulty lamp we were given a free breakfast! The eggs were cold, the waffles rock hard and the staff all seemed to be totally miserable. Our room was clean upon arrival but during our stay was never cleaned properly. We were often left without cream for coffee in the room, despite asking, and this was supposed to be included in the resort fee. We booked a Romance Package that was to include champagne and strawberries, after 24 hours of requesting this it finally arrived, but we were given Cava not champagne, by this time I was totally weary of complaining. On check out I was asked if I would be visiting again, I told the staff all my complaints and was told by one of the check –in staff that she had given us a free breakfast, BIG DEAL! When we arrived home I faxed the hotel manager, this was ignored, so I contacted Starwood, who also have not been much help. If you get a good rate stay here, eat out, but don’t expect much in the way of good service.

Lovely resort, great summer deal

This was our first visit to Whistler and we were very happy with the Westin's location and our junior suite. We booked through Expedia for one night and were able to extend our stay. Great summer deal for a beautiful resort.

Fantastic

Booked a night here through www.hellobc.com but when we got to the Westin they didn't have any record of our reservation. They let us log on to the internet where we found our reservation, they then upgraded us because of the problem (even though it was BC Escapes fault). They then rang us 30 minutes later to see if we were pleased with the room!
There are lots of extras (parking, resort fee etc) but the hotel is wonderful and the rooms are first class. It's very unusual to come across this sort of service in hotels nowadays - don't stay anywhere else!!

4th Visit to Whistler

This was our 4th winter visit to Whistler. Each year we try a new hotel. The Westin provided the best service, and friendliest staff. Our two children agree that this was the best hotel stay in Whsitler yet.
You can't beat the location, close to Gondolas, ski school, etc., etc.

Perfect resort for a great ski holiday

We had a fabulous week. The Westin is in a great location for the ski school, gondolas and village - everything was just steps away. This is a perfect place to stay if you want to ski in Whistler. There's a great spa (excellent treatments), an outdoor & an in door hot tub, pool, good food and a ski valet just near the door - makes the whole experience even more enjoyable.

The rooms were also ideal as you have a kitchen/dining/living area (with fireplace - very cozy) and then a seperate bedroom.

We will definitely be going back again next year.

World Class Service at a Great Hotel

We have traveled to Europe, South America, and Asia, but service has never exceeded that at the Westin Whistler. These people are pros! Our room was upgraded when we arrived and we were treated like royalty. If you get a chance stay there. You'll love it.

A Winter Wonderland Awaiting You!

My wife and I recently returned from a very wonderful ski vacation in Whistler. The Westin is a very nice hotel and offered us relaxing and comfortable accommodations. This was a birthday celebration for both of us and we were treated with much courtesy by almost everyone in the hotel. The rooms were spacious enough to handle all of our ski clothes and accessories. Everyone was quite helpful and provided us with the enjoyment we wanted. We enjoyed all of the excursions -- snowmobiling, snowshoeing and the dogsledding. They offered us another chance to be outdoors in a beautiful setting once more. It is truly a winter wonderland in December. Having the kitchen facilities in the room was a blessing to say the least. While we did not prepare all of our meals here, it was nice to know that it was readily available to us. Whistler Village has a grocery store, pharmacy and hardware store for any necessities that you may need. We would recommend the Westin Resort and Spa to anyone who likes playing in the snow. My wife was very pleased with the hot rocks massage, facials and pedicure that is offered in the spa.Well worth the trip!

Top Local Tips for Whistler

FRESH TRACKS The mountain allows for the first 600 people to go up the mountain at 7am for a big breakfast and to come down the mountain at 8am, before anyone else does. Buy your ticket in advance, for $15 dollars, and come early (6:30am) on powder days. Regular days you can make it if you arrive until 7:30.

non-skiing fun things to do in Whistler We highly recommend going snowmobiling. There is a private area for this about 10minutes from town and it is ridiculously beautiful. And it was MUCH faster than I expected...quite exhilerating. A great way to get in the 'snow spirit'. We also went tubing at night which was super fun.

Make sure it can face bad weather! We made the mistake on renting the cheapest deal out there.... which gave us a Dodge Stratus or "similar". Well similar was apparently a Kia Rio (although a Dodge Stratus would outperform a Kia anyday) and nearly killed ourselves on the ride back. Just take note of that and if you can spare the extra cash for an SUV or 4wheel drive, I would HIGHLY recommend it. At least during the winter seasons!
