This hotel is as close as you can get to the lifts. The rooms are very big, more like apartments than hotel rooms. They are brand new and they are very high end and comfortable. It really is a boutique hotel, and the staff make you feel very special.

The best hotel in Whistler !

I just saw the Sundial Boutique hotel and it is going to be the best hotel in Whistler. 8 private out door hot tubs with magnificent views of the mountains right at the base of Whsitler and Blackcomb mountain.

I had the pleasure of staying at the upgraded and completely renovated Sundial Hotel in Whistler in 2004 while meeting some locals for a weekend of golf. Not only is the hotel situated in the most central of spots in relation to the village of Whistler....right in the middle and within walking distance of everything....the rooms feel more like luxury condominiums with comfortable beds and high end finishing touches. I am fortunate enough to say that I've stayed in some of Whistler's finer hotels and none, in my opinion, compare to The Sundial from service through to comfort. The staff is friendly and the hospitality is first class. Make The Sundial your choice when you visit Whistler and considering I only live in Vancouver and spend lots of time there, this review should carry with it both credibility and objectivity. Have a great stay in Whistler and enjoy waking up at the foot of mountains right in the action of a bustling village unique to itself. I'm lucky enough to be spending this long weekend there again.

I lived like a rockstar

Stayed at the Sundial during the May 6th weekend. I chose their romance package after hearing about the private hot tubs and great reviews here. I had previously stayed at the Pan Pacific with my girlfriend, and while that place was fabulous the Sundial just surpassed our last experience.

Checking in was quick and easy with a friendly rep who made a point of telling us that if we needed anything or bookings made to just call down. I had asked them to make dinner reservations at Quattro (great restaurant) for Saturday night and that was done for me as well. Quite simply, everything I needed and wanted done, was already prepared for me.

The suite I had booked was large and spacious, and truly, having your own private hot tub out on the deck is nothing short of fantastic.

We'll definitely be going back there again.

Before heading up to Whistler I research many hotels and condos in Whistler. I kept running across the Sundial Boutique hotel and reading all the great things about it. I decided to give it a try, and I’m glad we did, it was money well spent. The reviews do not do the hotel justice, the hotel, staff and atmosphere is spectacular.

Our hotel was spacious and beautifully furnished, you feel like you are in an apartment rather than a small hotel room. We did not have a hot tub in our room but we enjoyed the roof top hot tub which has great views of the village square and mountains. The hotel is located at the base of both the Blackcomb and Whistler Gondolas, which made getting onto the mountain very easy.

Our 3 day holiday felt like a week, we found our new favorite place to stay in Whistler. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Whistler.

Everything about the Sundial was perfect. Great service, great room, great everything. Had a private hot tub and a great view of the Mt. & square. Staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. The hot tub suites are deffinetly the way to go for a great treat.

Stayed at the Sundial in Whistler. Great Hotel!!! Had a Private hot tub and view of the village! Staff was very helpful and friendly! Prices were very fair considering location and amenities ! Full Kitchen with all the fixtures. Very Clean!! A must stay!! This is our 4th year staying in Whistler, this by far has been the best! Hotel was remodeled 2 years ago but it looks like brand new!!

When they said "just steps from the Whistler gondola", they were being honest. This hotel is RIGHT by the gondola. Step out, walking 20 seconds, and viola!

Great hotel with comfortable rooms. All of the rooms are nicely furnished to give you that 'lodgy/whistler' feel.

The Sundial Boutique Hotel is by far the nicest place we have stayed in at Whistler. I have been to Whistler many times and stayed at several different hotels and nothing comes close to the atmosphere at this hotel. From their beautifully designed “spacious” rooms to their exception services, this hotel is at the top of my list of places to stay. You are steps away from the Gondolas, shops and fantastic restaurants of Whistler. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place in Whistler.

I have stayed at many hotels in Whistler, some very nicely appointed, some with a great location. The Sundial Hotel combines the best location, and after the renovations, the best rooms. This hotel was built some time ago, so the rooms are a great size. The view from our room was amazing. The staff was second to none, were extremely friendly and went the extra mile to make our stay an overall amazing experience. I was blown away by the Sundial.

I have stayed at countless hotels and resorts around the world and at many ski resorts. Whistler is always my hometown favorite. I have been loyal to the Westin Whistler Resort and Spa and being a Starwood member for years I always enjoy the perks, upgrades etc. I recently returned from a trip to Whistler over the Halloween weekend. This time I wanted to try a new property, so I did my research and picked the Sundial Boutique Hotel after reading reviews on this site and from recommendations from my friends. I must say the Sundial Boutique Hotel truly is Whistler's best. We stayed for 2 nights, our first night in suite 801 and our second in suite 705, which is well over 1,500 sq feet if you include the massive private deck and hot tub! Upon our arrival we had a personalized note for the GM with a box of fine belgian chocolates and the 2 bathrobes that I had requested, very impressed with such a personalized gesture.

Suite 705 on the top floor is just fantastic and the views off the deck are awesome, truly no property in Whistler can match them, not even new the Four Seasons Resort. We also asked for a DVD and stereo for our suite and these were delieverd within 5 minutes of me calling down, heck at the Westin it takes at least two phone calls and an hour for a simple request like this! The staff were so genuine and friendly and asked me if we needed anything else. They also responded to all of my emails in regards to restaurant reservations. I asked the front desk to book us a bungee jumping session with Whistler Bungee, of course again the staff were flawless, made the booking and called me with all of the confirmed details. We also moved suites to 801 during our stay, we had housekeeping assist us with moving our things, they are also very friendly and helpful. All rooms have great Aveda Spa shampoos and soaps. The bathrooms are great and do the job.

Suite 801 is the largest suite at the Sundial over 900 sq feet with a fire place in the living room and bedroom. The deck is well over 1000 sq feet and the private hot tub is just great! Again, no other property in Whislter offers this amenity, being in the hot tub while surrounded by snow capped mountains, the full moon and the stars is just magical at night!

This is a boutique property, with no in-house restauarant, there two restaurants attached to the bulding. True it's not a resort property like the Westin or Four Seasons or the Chateau Whistler, but the service is equal if not better, the suites are much more spacious and offer the best views of Whistler and private hot tubs. With so much to see and do in Whislter, travelers that will enjoy this property are like me, I am wheel heeled and I expect good service, but I love exploring the sights and restaurants, yes at the Four Seasons they greet you by name when you enter the hotel, so what! For the price, location and size of accomodation you'll be much happier staying here, we had Sunday brunch at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler, while it was good i've had better, we had drinks at the Four Seasons Resort, a great property, but rooms are smaller then at the Sundial and twice the price.

The Sundial truly impressed me and I am afraid the Westin has finally lost me. The Westin seems to be missing that cozy, alpine chalet feel, which the Sundial Boutique Hotel captures even as you enter the lobby. Highly recommended!

Top Local Tips for Whistler

Lost Lake trails great The Lost Lake trails are great for hikers and bikers. Whistler is a mecca for mountain bikers in the summer.

On a wet day We had some wet weather, and drove 5 minutes towards pemberton to the leisure/sports centre. There is a swimming pool and a professional size ice rink. For £10 or$20 we got the use of the rink for 3 hours 12 til 3pm, and boot hire ( both for 2 people)! This was fantastic as it was practically deserted, a Tuesday lunchtime, and only about 6 others using it! If only we had facilities like this in the UK!!

Things to do Barely Legal Motors and Ziptrek are really worth doing and great fun.
