I spent quite some time at Vancouver and decided to try Sheraton for 3 weeks or so... worst time of my life in a hotel! Quality and the attitude of staff was very poor, bed sheets had dust mites and to top it all, they messed up my colleuge's and my billings in the most careless manner that I've ever witnessed. If you ever end up staying here, make sure to check your bill... 9/10 times there's bound to be an error!

We were very disappointed by this hotel. Our room had an awful mildew odor. When we asked staff members for directions to local sites, they were rude and unhelpful.

Nice Hotel

from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed at the Sheraton Wall Centre during the weekend of August 13th and were pleased with the Hotel. It is indisputably a 3 1/2 star property but would not be more than a 4 star by most standards. The North Tower rooms have an edge over the South Tower rooms because the North Tower is newer and its fixtures/furnishings are in better condition. We stayed in the North Tower and were given a room on the Northeast side for first night but upon request we were moved to a room on the Southwest side (better Mountain/Ocean views) for remainder of the stay. The restaurant in the North Tower was great for breakfast. Room service was very pricey ($16.00 for ham&cheese sandwich). Health Club had pool and weight room but the machines in the cardio room were old and few. The rooms were relatively large and had floor-to-ceiling windows offering great unobstructed views. The bathrooms were decent size. The in-room amenities were few -- TV and telephone. Beds were comfortable. Daily room rate was reasonable CAN $195.00 but beware of the 17% lodging tax (worse than NYC!).

seaplanes, views, and vespas

This hotel is amazing..however...I was looking at the pictures of this place on the net and I have to admitt the pictures are more impressive than it actually is. Although this place was great! use your starwood points here... a little goes a long way...Right outside my window I could watch sea planes zoom in and land on the beautifull vancouver ocean...it is very close to the gas clock district and the downtown..I walked everywhere...I would suggest renting a vespa at the place next door and riding it around the near by enormous park whose name I forget..the hotel will put the vespa literally outside the front enterance when you wanna take a break...service was unbelievable...staff very welcoming...when I lost my bags from my flight they called the airline for me and got them back that day! worth the money..if you got it..bling bling.

magnificient views!

We only stayed one night at the end of our vacation but I wish we could have stayed more. The room was beautiful with floor to ceiling windows on two sides that presented a beautiful view of the city. The bed was so comfy, slept great. There were even 2 columns in the room. The only downer was having to pay so much for parking at the hotel. Thought it should have been included in what we paid for the room.

Saved our honeymoon!

from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed here for three nights during our honeymoon after the B&B we had originally booked in gave us a room with no air conditioning in 90+ degree heat. The room was in the North Tower, which is the newer of the two. The room was smallish, but nicely appointed. They sent up a complimentary bottle of champagne which even more appreciated given our earlier troubles in Vancouver. The location is excellent for exploring the city. We will stay here again on a return trip.

Perfect! Perfect! Perfect!

from Jillyrenae
We stay in Vancouver at least once a year, and this is by far the best hotel we've stayed at as of yet! The hotel staff was friendly and extremely helpful. The location is perfectly convenient to everything (right near Robson Street), and the rooms are gorgeous! The floor-to-ceiling windows make you feel as if you're floating on air! I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others!

good...but will change next time

from luxmon
Stayed there 1 night in June. Overall feeling is good: Rooms are well appointed, the restaurant is really fine, business lounge is efficient and the view is fantastic. But on the other hand, the south tower could certainly deserve a renovation, you can smell the kitchen on 25th floor, the bathrooms look 20 years old and I had to wait more then 20 minutes for check-out because a staff member was checking something with the lady at reception. Not very professional !
I will choose another location for my next stay.

Surprising

from wanderdust
Wow! When I reserved a room at the Sheraton, I expected the room to be nice, but not this nice. My husband and I were in Vancouver for a week in April and we stayed here and the Pan Pacific. The Pan Pacific was a disappointment after this hotel. The room was quite nice and the view was spectacular. It was not a big room (the Pan Pacific room was even smaller) but it was moderate sized, very clean with nice decor, the service was excellent. We stayed in the South Tower-I had seen on this site that someone else didn't like (because you have to walk across a stone driveway to the main hotel) that but we did not care. I only use the front desk for check in/out and otherwise call down, so it did not matter to me that we were not in the "main" hotel. Great location and again, the view, wow! I can tell you that when we go back, we are only staying at the Wall Centre.

Fabulous Hotel

from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed at the Wall Centre for 3 days in May before boarding our cruise ship. I had gotten an excellent rate from Hotwire, and was eager to see what the hotel would be like. It was an excellent experience; from the greeting of the bellmen in the entrance to the efficiency of the front desk, service was superb. Any problems with the room (these were minor) were attended to immediately, and our parking charged were removed to make up for any inconvenience.

The location was wonderful: plenty of shopping, entertainment, and eating venues in every direction. Exploring the city on foot was easy.

I would not hesitate to stay there again.

Dishonest Reservation System

from A TripAdvisor Member
I just reserved a room in their web site. The price quoted is CAD179 per night for a standard room. I think the price is good so I confirmed my reservation. However, in their confirmation reply, it lists the rate under *Special Requests and mentions that special requests cannot be guaranteed until check-in. The site do not mention that the rate is not guaranteed during the reservation process until I confirmed my reservation and charge me a deposit. They are some what dishonest.

Fantastic hotel! Will stay here again!

from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed here in May 2004 on our honeymoon- what a terrific place! The beds are fantastically comfortable, the hotel was clean and modern but not "cold" in appearance, and with floor to ceiling views of the city in every room! The front desk, cafe, and parking staff were quite accomodating and pleasant- no service troubles at all!! It was in a central, beautiful location near to Robson street and Yaletown. We highly recommend this hotel, which we booked through a famous discount travel site- can't beat the price!!! Wonderful place to honeymoon- we will stay here again!!

Top Local Tips for Vancouver

If you love a fantastic Coffee you have to go to Caffe Artigiano Caffe Artigiano is located at 763 Hornby St Vancouver BC V6Z 1S4. It has simply the highest quality coffee and standard of Barista around. Their coffee is magnificent and they will make it exactly to your liking. There is a really great scene here with trendy people sipping their brews. Ask the Barista to do you a unique coffee art and he will do this for you with pleasure. The Cafe is right across from the Vancouver Art Gallery so you could wonder over and visit before or after your coffee.

Call the hotel's concierge for any tips/suggestions on how to get around Our concierge gave us an excellent tip for arranging a shuttle from Vancouver back to SEATAC in Seattle. That weekend unfortunately had delays of 3-4 hours at the Blaine border crossing into the USA; our busdriver said that was unusual but occasionally happens.

good value One bus transfer ticket got us on SeaBus and subway (altho, nobody checked for tickets so not sure you actually need them). Did require some walking to access them, so if handicapped, taxis are the way to go.
