Very Nice Hotel and Stay!
from Midnight_777My room was big, bright with a queen size bed that looked more like a king. One of the walls behind the bed is made of briks and looks very cozy ....
Everything I can say was just exellent.
Hotel is also closely located to the Grandville Island,it is really just a short walk about 10 minutes to the shore were the little boat takes u to the island. The cost is about $2.50 per person and 2 min later u are there.Just make sure if u walk u don't wear high heels..there's no place for them in Vancouver as because the streets are very hilly...it's awesome..I love BC.
Hotel is also close to downtown area and major shopping centres. All I can say is very nice place.
It is very nice for someone who enjoys more of a city life and urban style themes but if u are more country and nature buff like me u also might want to consider staying in North Vancouver...which is closer to the ferries that take u to the Vancouver Island and other attractions like Capilano Suspension Bridge and Groose Mountain and the highway that goes trough the Duffy Lake Loop.....make sure U do the Duffy Lake Loop and Not just stay in the city...It is amazing ..just breath taking amazing out there...stop in Squamish,Whistler,Lilooet and some other little towns..u won't be sorry.
What a Great Stay
from JaniePMy husband and I had been in touch with the hotel prior to our arrival both via Internet and phone (while in Jasper) in order to arrange a whale watching trip and the staff were extremely helpful and courteous (many thanks again) in sorting us out. Their great service continued throughout our stay and we could well recommend a drink in the bar after a days sight-seeing (great drinks - thanks Jen).
We drove into Vancouver and located the hotel and it's car park very easily. The room we were allocated was on the 4th floor and, as requested, it was quiet (it faced the ally and was next to the linen cupboard), a lovely size with 2 queen beds and very clean and functional. Our only initial problem was we couldn't find the ice machine but soon discovered that it was located on both the 3rd & 5th floors so that issue was quickly resolved.
The main lobby and bar area was very clean and tidy and the hotel was ideally located to get the aquabus to Granville Island ($2.50 each way - a bit pricy for a 1 minute trip) - perfect for shopping, entertainment and whale watching tours. It only took 15 minutes to walk up Granville to shopping malls, food outlets etc near Canada Place however, reception helped out a lot in suggesting closer eateries and recommended a great pizza literally round the corner.
We tended to walk everywhere (Gastown, Chinatown, Canada Place) and only took the bus when getting to Stanley Park (lovely place especially by English Bay for the evening sun), however, it was our choice not to use the buses and the hotel was located well to catch the local transport / hop-on tour bus if that's what you wanted.
On a whole, we had a lovely stay in Vancouver and it was enhanced by the attentive help and service at the Inn at False Creek (we even got a lovely acknowledgement letter to our home on return thanking for us for returning our survey - nice touch!). We would recommend a stay here to anyone and would definately return here should we come to Vancouver again.
Loved this hotel
from ScotouristIt is extremely good value for money, spotlessly clean and with very courteous staff on the reception desk. There is a small outdoor pool and a small indoor gym for those who wish to maintain their fitness levels! It is also well located for coach tour pick ups and has the city tour bus stop right outside.
This hotel would be my first choice if I ever have the opportunity to visit beautiful Vancouver again.
Well Situated
from stevemofIf you have half a day then it is possible to walk clear around Stanley Park and back to the hotel.
My main tip surrounds the traffic noise. On arrival we were offered a choice of a noisy room with a view or a quite room at the rear of the building. Be warned...the glazing at the front is a poor isulator....noisy means noisy!
Good evening meal in restaurant.
Two well stocked corner grocery stores within 2 mins walk if you head for The Creek itself.
Great find for the value
from ShutterGoVery secure and friendly place
from A TripAdvisor MemberUpon arrival we found the lobby pleasantly decorated and the manager on duty was exceptionally helpful.
We found that he was willing to assist us during our stay and was well informed about the best areas for tourist to visit.
The rooms are compact but very clean and decently put together with a mini breakfast area. They also serve a complimentary breakfast in the restaurant that has abit of variety.
Our housekeeper for the first 2 days did a fabulous job with our room. On the 3rd and last day we had a different housekeeper who did not vacuum the carpet, clean the shower or remove the dirty cutleries.
We would stay at this hotel in the future because it is in a great location with Medium security features. You can only access the elevators through your room key and there is a very highly secured covered parking for guest.
Overall stay was pleasant, staff very friendly.
Excellent value
from clmbsbAs we were there for 7 nights we decided to book a suite. This contained 2 double beds, large TVand living area, bathroom and fully fitted kitchen. It was like having a little self contained studio instead of a hotel room. Everything was clean and fully working. $731 inc tax for the 7 nights, booked direct with the hotel.
The staff were very helpful whenever we needed to use them. Internet access is available in the lobby at the cost of $8 for 1 hour. There is also an infomation computer that lets you call places free of charge should you need more information, we found this handy to ring the transportation people to get times of buses etc. Free safes are available at reception too.
All in all a very nice hotel to stay at. The location was great too, not in the centre but not too far away, about a 15 minute walk from our hotel to the Seabus terminal or 10 minutes to Robson St and the shops.
Great hotel
from Okie37Great casual hotel
from A TripAdvisor MemberOverall a good place to stay but nothing special
from A TripAdvisor MemberTop Local Tips for Vancouver
Robson Street Lots of trendy shops that stay open late on Saturday evening with many open until 10:00 pm. Try Davie for a great little greek place.
Yelow Cab Co. Turn up lightningly fast at the hotel once you call them. Charge to airport around £29 CAN one-way. Friendly enough driver who takes back streets to avoid traffic jams but fiddles with I.T. kit provided in the car all the time, chats to his clients then turns nasty in an instant when it looks as if he will have to accept a voucher for payment at the destination rather than cash with a tip on top. Our particular driver refused the voucher and called RCMP in to force us to pay again in cash on spurious grounds that the voucher was invalid in some way (we disagree).
Go to Victoria Victoria on Vancouver Island is a great day out. You can go by coch and Ferry or if you're well heeld by direct seaplane.
