It was a very nice hotel although we had a very noisy family next door, and asked to move rooms as it was our valentines weekend away, so it turned out a bit of a hassle. Security had to tell the family to be quiet as their where no alternate rooms. So nice hotel but watch out for noisy Kids and screaming parents.

The Best

from JKnowles22
This is a wonderful hotel and would recommend this hotel to anyone. The rooms and the views and the four sales restaurant is fantastic, properly the best meal I have eaten in a restaurant.
I would go back tomorrow.

Cannot beat the view at sunrise

Just returned from a one night stay at the Pan Pacific, tagged onto the back of a 10 day stay in Whistler. Was an excellent choice, we were upgraded on arrival to a suite with excellent views of the water and mountains. Ask for a room as high up as possible - the views are well worth it. Also close to Stanley Park! All in all a great hotel.. stay there if you get the chance.

Always perfect

from Cosmo11
I stayed several times at the Pan Pacific, and it is always a real pleasure and worth the money.

If available, be sure to go for the suites, you will love em. Service is great, rooms are spacious, very clean and light. Location is perfect for shopping as well as bar-hopping (gastown is around the corner).
If you like seafood, you will love the Five Sails restaurant. Go for the menu, its well worth the money.

Only negative, if any, is the breakfast, its only average for that price.

Fantastic Rooms and Views

from A TripAdvisor Member
Our room was fantastic and the view (Harbor View) was as good as you can get with fixed windows. Room was not ready by check-in but was worth the wait and one of the very best we have ever seen. Five Sails restaurant was top notch during the visit.

The best experience of my life

from A TripAdvisor Member
I've stayed at lots of hotels, but the Pan Pacific remains at the most amazing hotel in my memories. Located right in front of the water, and right where all cruiseships arrive and depart. The views are fantastic. The location is superb. And the rooms and the bext experience of my hotel stays. If you can pay for it, please please do stay at this GREAT hotel. I can still feel the sheets and smell the ambience.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay

from Travebug
We booked a deluxe harbour view room, and were lucky enough to be very high up, with a fabulous view. The King size bed is one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on, with huge pillows, feather duvets, and a chaise by the window. The 5 sails restaurant serves the best seafood, and desserts were fabulous. Great location, as we were joining a cruise after 2 days in Vancouver so the location was perfect. I feel we certainly received value for money, and would stay there again.

overpriced

from lesley444
Very disappointed. Gimicky sub-standard stuff trying to make you think it is 5 star hotel but in reality the gimicks just annoy you in a 2-3 star hotel: poorly lighted room, uncomfortable tacky bathroom, unhelpful and unfriendly staff, room not ready at checkin, didn't get non-allergenic type of room we reserved and staff was annoyed when we tried to get type of room we needed, our son ended up sleeping on the floor, 10 minutes to get car from valet, and then discovered there was no secure parking anyway, extremely slow check-in and check-out, annoying escalator added 10 minutes every time we went out or in. Arrived to check in 1 hr before a meeting and was late for meeting because it took so long to get into/out of our room. Your are greeted by valets/bellboys who insist on taking your luggage up to your hotel (because you can't get it on the escalator!), yet it took at least 20 minutes for them to bring the luggage. Will never stay there again at those ridiculous prices.

Top hotel in Vancouver

from JimDublin57
This is a superb hotel; the staff are very friendly and helpful and the servivce is top class. We stayed in a deluxe room on the 19th floor with harbour / mountain views that have to be seen to be believed. The room itself was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. While you can hear the seaplanes, they don't start until 7am and we didn't find the noise to be disturbing. The Five Sails restaurant is one of the finest seafood restaurants I have eaten in (be warned though - very pricey). I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Vancouver if you can afford it.

Great view

from A TripAdvisor Member
We got a great price via the internet and were very happy with our stay. At first they put us into a room with a city view but when I went back to the reception desk and asked if there was any way we could switch, a very sweet woman gave us a smaller room with a lovely view that was partially obscured by the swimming pool area. Our room was very nice and comfortable but the view really made it. We had chosen to stay at a smaller boutique hotel for part of our stay (the Wedgewood) and part of our stay at the Pan Pacific so that we could enjoy being on the water. I would do it the same way again. The Pan Pacific was very nice and clean and the outdoor hot tub was glorious at night during the rainy, chilly late March weather. We loved the hot tub! The hotel itself feels a little like a convention center but is still very nice and everyone we dealt with was pleasant and helpful. In summary, the view and the hot tub were our favorite elements. And Vancouver itself was great.

Great Views

from WicklowIreland
We stayed in this hotel as the first stop on our trip to Canada a few weeks ago. It is in a great location down at Canada Place on the harbourfront and the views from the window were spectacular with cruise ships docking under our window each morning.

Having read other reviews that have been posted here the only things I can agree with are the malfunctioning room safe and the fact that there is no real lobby as it is a convention centre. The staff were friendly, the room and bathroom were modern, clean and new. The noise of the seaplanes is avoided if you close the window and they are interesting to watch.

Top Local Tips for Vancouver

Grouse Mountain Go there first thing in the morning to avoid the heat and the crowds. Really is great place.

the use of skytrain skytrain is located below the hotel by the waterfront center

Amazing public transportation Definitely use the public transportation-the skytrain was so easy, the seabus was clean and quick, the public buses came frequently. We never had to wait for more than fifteen minutes for anything. Taxi's were expensive but sometimes you just have to utilize them.
