A boutique hotel, the only way to describe the decor of this place is beyond over-the-top--in a good way. Meticulous detail has been paid to every detail of the decor. While rooms are a bit on the small size, every bit of the suite had been thoroughly thought out in what was included and how it was presented.
The staff matched the quality of the decor: very attentive and ready to assist. Located centrally in downtown makes it great for getting to anywhere.

Elegant hotel

I was very pleased with my stay at Le Soleil.. the location was ideal (just a couple doors away from many of the other properties I looked at), the staff was friendly, the suite was very elegant, the bathroom was spacious and the price was phenominal (on Orbitz). The suite is decent sized.. definitely larger than a standard hotel room, but all the bulky furniture makes it a little tight. I definitely recommend this hotel & can't justify the negative comments left by others on this site.

We spent one night at Le Soleil after a hard week of cruising Alaska.The staff was friendly and helpful.Everything was clean and beautiful.The bedding and bathroom were luxurious.I booked online and felt we got a bargain.The matriarch of our travelling group kept telling me how it was "the nicest hotel she every stayed in".We were all pleased.

We just returned from Vancouver which is about the friendliest, most beautiful place we've visited in many many travels. Le Soleil was a lovely boutique hotel, centrally located within walking distance from Granville Island transportation, Chinatown (never at night we learned), Yale Town, museums, Stanley Park, Robson St. and much much more. Special kudos to concierge Nathalie and the staff all of whom could not have been more helpful. Cab drivers in Vancouver were the most helpful and nicest we've ever encountered. The US dollar goes a long way in Canada. We were extremely pleased.

A Disapointment............

After doing some research on 4 and 5 star hotels in vancouver my fiancee and myself decided to try Le Soleil Hotel (we usually stay at the beautiful Westin Grand). I booked a corner suite with a soaker tub and separate bedroom (it was our anniversay and we decided to spend it at the fireworks in English Bay)......I was a liitle skeptical about booking because I am a Westin fanatic and I was more than dissapointed when we arrived at our suite door. Upon entering our suite we discovered the carpets were fillthy, I mean stains all over the carpet that were extremly noticable. After venturing down a 4 foot hallway we discovered our living room on the right and our bedroom on the left, both were about 10 feet by 10 feet with too much trinkets and oversized furniture crammed into a little space with little walking room around them. Our couch was pretty worn and had white stains on it as well with the chair at the desk...disgusting. Our bed was hard as a rock and our mini bar had not been re-stocked......The only good thing about 350sq ft "suite" was the clean bathroom.........
I phoned down to the front desk and explained my dissapointment to them and all I got back was I could upgrade to a deluxe suite for 40......no thanks.....
There will be no next time at Le Soleil but at least now I have tried it and will never go back.

Very Nice hotel

The le soleil is a very nice hotel. Suite type rooms with very nice furnishings and finishings. Close to Canada Place and all the action. More moderate than the surrounding big hotels. Staff was very nice and friendly. Valet parking was prompt. It was very quiet. Bathrobes. Only oddity, the ice machine was on the 3rd floor.

BEAUTIFUL penthouse

what a beautiful penthouse... The view has been blocked by new buildings but the decor inside is awesome. They will bring you whatever you want, they brought me the best sushi in the city upon request :) Their chocolate covered strawberries were wonderful. Celings are high, balcony is huge, staff are courtious and charming. Valet is cute ;) And anything i needed was provided.

I travel quite frequently to Vancouver and I have to say I was very impressed with the Le Soleil. Typically I try to stay in the most convenient and service oriented hotels. The ones where they would wash my socks if I really asked them to...I would never, but it would be nice to know you get the service that you deserve. This hotel made me comfortable from day one. They have beautiful decor that makes you feel like royalty when you come in the door. The suites are great for business or if you just like having the extra space. I have paid more in Vancouver, but I have to say it is affordable and comes with just as much class as the higher priced hotels. I give it 4 1/2 stars. My only criticism of the hotel is that the views are not as spectacular as the waterfront hotels. this is just because it is not as tall as all the others, but the location is still phenomenal. I'll stay there again in the future.

A very special place

We stayed at the Le Soleil for our 1st wedding anniversary. The hotel staff was very friendly and we were given a corner suite with 2 terraces. The hotel has twice daily maid service with all Aveda toiletry products. It is very well located in the financial district and close to the Robson St shopping and Coal Harbour promenade. The decor is very...busy in a Versailles style, but makes the place quite unique. We would definately stay at the Le Soleil again and would recommend it to anyone!

I stay in this hotel with my parents, its a great hotel, the staff its ver friendly, the rooms are very nice and very big. The Location its perfect, and the rates are very low. The best of Vancouver.

Penthouse my eye!!!

As a local to the area, I thought I'd picked a good hotel to celebrate my birthday!!. We decided on the penthouse on the top floor . Big mistake!!. The standard rooms are bigger in a Best Western.We got the romance package which was just 0.k, but we did have to phone and ask where the goodies were (it's a good job it wasn't supposed to be a suprise). We never slept all night due to the noise of the air conditioning in the roof, so $600 less and very tired we checked out..
We did complain about the noise, but got no sympathy or a discount. So my advice is to avoid the penthouse if you stay there....

Top Local Tips for Vancouver

Highlights of Vancouver Walk or bike ride along the waterfront between downtown to Stanley Park. Take the False Bay ferry to the Granville Market. Go to the Museum of Anthropology to learn about First Nation culture, history, and people.

Good Pub! Try the Lions Pub just 5 mins away from the hotel (near Canada Place on the Waterfront - 888 West Cordova St) which serves excellent value snacks and good selection of drinks (even Boddingtons on draught!). Staff very friendly there too. A very "British" style pub!

What to see... What to skip Stanley Park was really nice. Robson street is so overrated, it was block after block of the same stores. The Mosaic Restaurant at the Marriot was excellant. Great sidewalk cafes on Robson street. We Drove through Gastown, decided not to stop after I saw people with crack pipes to their mouth while looking for parking. Very safe and clean city overall.
