Hotel Deer Lodge in Lake Louise is a very nice and cosy hotel, with lovely rooms, good service and a very friendly staff. Most important is that the hotel is situated at a walking distance from the beautiful Lake Louise.

We had been staying in Banff at the Caraboo Lodge which is excellent and were looking forward to our stay at Deer Lodge in Lake Louise. The location for the lake itself and the surrounding area is just unbelievable but the hotel itself was some what disappointing. The rooms are lovely and clean you couldn't really ask for better and the staff were absolutely fantastic but the hotel is a very strange mish mash. It was only about £100 a night to stay there, which is reasonable but in contrast the food and drink in the hotel is so expensive. My father bought a whisky at the bar and it cost £25.We had luckily hired a car and so could go to a local restaurant where the food was amazing and a normal price. We sat and watched as other residents came in with bottles of alcohol so they didn't have to buy anything at the hotel.Also the main part of the hotel is really lovely but the new part is really cheap looking. This was such a shame as the area is lovely, the staff were really really excellent and the rooms were nice but I wouldn't stay there again> When you are in such a remote area you really don't want to have to drive for miles to have a decent breakfast.
