Don't forget to book a dinner at Evil Dave's in Jasper !!! We were only staying for one night in Jasper, so really wanted to have a satisfying dinner there. We browsed around downtown Jasper for a good half hour. Most of the restaurants looked very "ordinary" (and many were Greek family restaurants which offered a very similar menu) until my husband checked out Evil Dave's (Evil Dave’s Grill - 622 Patricia Street, Jasper (780) 852.3323 ). The Rib Eye steak was to die for, and all the dishes had great flavour as well as presentation. We ordered a spaghetti with meat sauce for our little daughter, expected some processed sauce and a little meat. Instead it was tossed in real tomato sauce with garlice, fresh onion and pepper etc. Truly delicious. The staff were also very friendly. It wasn't exactly a family restaurant, but they didn't have any attitude towards our 3 year old at all. We paid $80 incl. tips and taxes. Not cheap, but it was well worth it!
Where to go in and around Jasper Jasper has the most amazing scenery. Pyramid Lake and Patricia Lake early in the morning were absolutely breath taking but watch out for the Elk wandering all over the road.The JAsper Tramway was a logn wait - 1.5 hours for a tram up there. Nothing to do while waiting other than spend money on ice creams but no proper cafe so best time to go first thing and take a snack. It's cold at the top as well, but the views on a clear day were amazing. Maligne Caynon was very pretty but be warned walking downwards seems very easy the walk back up can be tough ! Very picturesque.The people in Jasper were really friendly and the pace was very laid back.
