They don't clean the bathrooms!!!

Let's start chronologically: Pulled in, had to search for someone for valet park. One of the phones in the room did not work. I had to read the service phone numbers from the one phone to use the other phone because the second phone did not have a call list on it. Called the front desk to enquire about fitness facilities and was on hold for 10 minutes and forgotten about. Had to call down again. There are no fitness facilities. You pay $4.50 to use a facility across the street.

Decided to try out the supposedly world-class restaurant. It had 7 customers in it. I waited 15 minutes while waitstaff walked by and stared. Finally gave up and went to the mall.

Antiquated alarm clock located on the side of the bed WITHOUT the bed lamp. So you roll one way to turn the alarm off, and the other way to turn the lamp on. Sheets had holes in it and the duvet was stained. The towels smelled of strong bleach.

Next morning I stepped into the shower and turned it on. I then discovered that there was a used washcloth, used bar of soap, open shampoo and hair all over the tub. They had not bothered to clean it. Called downstairs to request cleaning. Was (again) placed on hold and forgotten about. Decided to get the heck out of there. I complained to the front desk and the response was that I "should have told them yesterday". I explained that I am not in the habit of performing a quality control inspection when I check in (although please please do this if you have the misfortune of being booked here by your company).

Then came time to collect my car. It was raining, the car was there, the keys were not. Apparently the bellhop decided to go on break and take my keys with him. So another 15 minutes while I waited.

For a lower price you can stay at the Westin! This was definitely the worst experience I have had with a hotel of this price-range.

Enter the Sutton Place Hotel...just make sure you hold the door open for the homeless people so they can spit on you as you enter 'thier turf'. It's like a trip back in time 25 years as the decor is severely outdated. Apparantly they are doing some renovations but only on a selection of floors. This might seem good but ALL the floors are very decayed like the faded green carpets, the k-mart wall pictures and the drapery from that 70's show. When I stayed there, I had a problem with my hot water. The front office manager came to 'assist', but all I recieved was a crooked toothed grin and a comp'd parking charge from a country bumpkin and uneducated lady. I'm sorry, but this place is terrible.

Don't Stay Downtown Many homeless and beggars downtown. City center is deserted evenings and weekends with few restaurants near hotel

Airport is a long long way away Depending on traffic, it can take up to an hour to get into town from the airport. Leave a bit more time allowing for the current roadworks. (September 2008)
