I, too, wish I was the first to write a review. I L-O-V-E the Kozy Knest Kabins!!! We discovered them a couple years ago and knew the kabins were perfect for us. I have MS and it affects my balance. So I am unable to do a lot of fishing and such, so I stick around the Kabins while my husband fishes...and it doesn't take him long to follow the path to the lake. He even takes our 4 man raft down and tosses it in. The owners are fantastic and the rooms are so cozy and comfy! There is a small store on the grounds...just in case you forgot things like salt and pepper =0). We have never smelled gas and because of the wonderful mountain breeze, there is hardly ever any bugs. The rooms are always and clean and tidy. One time we left a few dirty dishes in the sink and when they straightened the bed, they did the dishes too! Who could ask for more?!?!?! I am totally recommending you stay here; that is if you enjoy the outdoors and having a good time and not some hoity toity I-need-maid-service-and-food-delivered-to-me type of person!

Wish I was the first to comment on these Kabins. Too bad the previous guests didn't have a good stay. But we sure have. A group of us go quading and snowmobiling in the Crowsnest each year and will continue to do so. Of all the places we have stayed we always return to the Kozy Knest Kabins. No it is not the Ritz but it is home away from home. The highway might be out the front window but you never hear the traffic. If the only thing you see is the highway and not the gigantic beautiful mountains than you are not interested in being in the Crowsnest. The Kabins are very well kept and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with the necessities of dishes and cookware. The rooms are set for four people to stay but alot of room to visit gracefully with friends. The bugs if any are rare. The gas smell if you do smell it, is the gravity air furnace heat. The heat is never a concern winter or summer. Sure maybe you have to walk a path to the lake, but what is wrong with that? Enjoy the scenery and the exercise. To those of you who are looking for a very welcoming and relaxing stay than go here. The owners are awesome. For those of you who love spending time with friends, love the great outdoors and great service than stay at the Kozy Knest Kabins. To those who need a maid and are not comfortable cooking for yourself and having great service and a good time, than don't stay here. From our group, we highly recommend the Kozy Knest Kabins as a great place to stay

No bugs for us but we had the gas smell as well - not bad but ANY is not good. The place was spotlessly clean and the kitchen well equipped. The lake is actually about 200 yards across the back lawns through the trees on a nice path.
The Crowsnest is not Aspen or Banff. I thought the place was in keeping with the character of the valley and other surroundings and was half the price of the chain "value" joints. We DID note they have to have that gas situation looked at though. It was blazing hot and we had all the windows open all night so it was fine, but a winter stay would not be advisable.

This place was absolutely horrible! We showed up at about midnight and ended up not even spending one night because it was such a dump. It was absolutely infested with bugs, and it smelled like gas. The cabins are also facing the highway, nowhere near the lake. DON'T STAY HERE!
