Nice room but no sleep

It was great except for the noise. Our room's window looked out onto the indoor pool. Voices and splashes echoed loudly until late in the evening when everybody finally left. Then the restaurant cleanup started. We heard loud clanking dishes and vacuuming till at least midnight. It seemed like it was right outside our door. Then it sounded like someone was doing a late night workout in the gym across the hall. I seriously think we could have gotten more sleep out in the car.That room should be converted into a storage area. I won't be staying there again.

The Best Western Airport Inn is conveniently located to many attractions in Calgary. It provides a good value and the continental breakfast is above average.

Top Local Tips for Calgary

The Stampede Must go; even if you just buy a day ticket for the general area at $13 as I did. Its a great day out for the whole family

Booking during the Calgary Stampede BOOK EARLY!! We didn't realize the Stampede was occuring, and we only needed one night's accomodation as a place to rest after a long drive from Montana prior to our flight home. When I tried various websites, many places were sold out, so I suspected it was because of the Stampede and grabbed a booking at a hotel with a high price for the quality. However, the motel turned out better than expected. I overheard another guest checking out, however, who could only stay one night where we were & was moving on to the next of 3 different hotels for his stay during the Stampede because of lack of space. So check the Stampede dates, even if you are not planning to go, and if they fall when you need to book in Calgary, book early.

driving in Calgary Calgary is split into northeast, northwest, southeast and southwest. I always make sure which section of the city I am going to to avoid ending up in the opposite side of the city.
