I was in the area for a few days and stopped in without a reservation. Its a slow time of the year in Sept and there were plenty of rooms. Their rate was attractive so we stayed. Ended up staying an extra night we liked it so much. Quiet, clean, beautiful grounds, comfortable furnishings. Exc breakfast spread. Much better fo rus than staying in town as we have a few times in the past

We found this hotel gorgeous.
It is on a cliff with spectacular views! Our room looked toward the mountains and was beautiful, but not large.
It appeared as if we were lucky because some of the rooms faced the wrong way. I would definitely ask for the view, but if you don't get it, at least eat in the dining room and look out.
I would go back to this hotel in a minute - the weather in August was perfect (although I'm sure we would enjoy it in the snow too)!
The spa services were excellent. The food was excellent.
Guests were treated nicely, even though the hotel was fairly crowded (mostly with Asians).

Top Local Tips for Banff

Shuttle bus around Banff Enjoy the shuttle bus which takes you from the door of the hotel into the Banff townsite every 30-40 minutes. This lets you leave your car in the carpark and not have to deal with the busy parking area in town.

Eating Out Lots of good places to have meals. A few exceptional places you might want to try are Melissa's Missteaks, The Olde Spaghetti Factory, and the Keg at the end of town! Enjoy! Cows is a tasty place for ice-cream on a hot day, but a bit pricey.

Banffshire Club is a must If you are wanting to spend $100-$200 a person for an amazing dinner, go to the Banffshire Club at the Banff Springs Hotel. Staff and food are immaculate! I've dined around the world, and this was one of the best dining experiences of my lifetime! I wish this restaurant was in Houston, but, then again, we might be broke! It's a great place for a romantic dinner or even a proposal! Well worth the $$$. Tasting dinner is highly recommended!
