We stayed at the Hidden Ridge resort in June of 2004, having found it on the internet & been drawn by its quiet location, beautiful setting & self catering facilities. It met & exceeded our expectations on all fronts! We had a 1st floor room / kitchenette with a balcony that looked out over the valley falling steeply away into Banff & the mountains providing the backdrop. It was simply stunning at sunset! The facilities were commendably clean & maintained on a daily basis, the staff extremely polite, the environment quiet & relaxing and the out-of town proximity amazing for wildlife spotting. We would definitely go back & stay at the first opportunity!

This is an affordable, cosy, real-deal mountain getaway that is tucked away just enough to let you be close to nature but close enough to Town that you are 5 minutes away from a cold drink, good food, great music and a live warm body if that is what you are looking for. If you are there with the family, the spacious chalets and condos, give you more than the basics including a kitchen, two baths, fireplace, balcony and use of a hot tub for a price that lets you take advantage of some of the more costly mountain features and events with your family. On occasion, the service has been hit and miss particularly in high season when the staff is plentiful but young. Generally, a great little hideaway, hidden but accessible, loaded with features but reasonable.

Top Local Tips for Banff

Ski hire and passes Make sure to book ski hire and passes in advance. We booked ours through Ski Independence before we went. Tri Area Ski passes and hire was much cheaper than doing t on the hoof !

Grizzly's is a great place to eat they serve fondue and it was great

Bus Service Free bus service to and from Hidden Ridge is available on a regular schedule. Great for getting in to Banff town for a night of fun and silliness. Take a taxi home for about $7 including tip.
