We have stayed at this hotel frequently over the last 4 years, during August and October. We have just returned from a one week stay on the all inclusive deal. I have to say I always felt it was super hotel with excellent food and service. Sadly I don't think we will be going again. The staff are still very friendly and helpful but the overall standard of the food and accomodation has slipped. In the past this hotel has always represented excellent value for money and the use of the larger resort and spa was a real bonus. I am sad that it isn't what it used to be.

This holiday was the best we ever had and can't wait to come again. Staff, food and relaxing luxury were fantastic, wanted to come for New Year, but out of our price range. We are saving for next time, all the best, can't wait to see how your hotel on the beach turned out.

We stayed at the Hilton RAK in May for 10 days. I was a little dubious about Ras Al Khaimah as we have stayed in Dubai several times and really did no know what to expect of this location. However we were not disappointed. We arrived early morning and did not expect to get access to our rooms until 2pm however to our surprise they were ready on our arrival which was a real bonus. One thing we were told by several travel agents was that the transfer time from Dubai to RAK was 45 minutes with the new highway, however it was nearer an hour and thirty minutes and the driver was not taking it slowly.
We stayed on the AI basis which was very good value, the meals are taken in the main Al Khor restaurant in the hotel which is buffet style and had different themes each evening, you can take lunch at the beach club which is excellent, you can choose from buffet or full menu which includes everything from toasted sandwiches to lobster and jumbo prawns. You can also eat in the a la carte restaurant in the evening and you are given an allowance towards your meal but the drinks are still included. We ate there one evening and for 4 adults and 1 child it cost us an additonal £15 which was well worth it.
The Havana bar is a nice place for cocktails in the evening, Juan the barman and Chona the waitress are fantastic and cannot do enough for you. In fact one of the main reasons that we had such a great holiday was the staff, they were all fantastic and did everything to ensure you have an enjoyable stay.
There are shops/souks very near by but not on the scale of dubai. They do free transfers into dubai a couple of times a week which were very popular so you need to book in advance.
If you want a relaxing holiday I would definitely recommend this hotel and location.

Just returned from a 6 night stay at the Hilton Ras Al Khaimah, arrived at the hotel about 8am after an overnight flight from Heathrow, expecting not to be able to check in until 2pm, was greeted by a very helpful, friendly receptionist who checked us in straight away and we were able to use all the facilities.
Found all the staff very helpful and friendly, unlike our stay the previous year at the Oasis Beach.
Booked the all-inclusive option which we found very good value, food was wonderful and the choice was amazing.
Beach club was fantastic, there is a shuttle bus but found the taxi better at just 10 dirhams (approx £1.60).
Shuttle bus to the nearest shopping mall only runs in the evening but the taxi fare is only 5 dirhams (less than £1).
Recommend this hotel to anyone and will hopefully be returning next year.....can't wait!!!

Curtains would not close,shower curtain was very smelly.Got charged 316 dirhams for a twenty min call to Ireland!

brilliant holiday

Spent 10 days there for my wifes 50th birthday. All the reviews we read were spot on. OK its not 5 star but a good 4 to 4.5 star. Went all inclusive and this was great value for money especially with the amount my wife drank !! !(only joking) The staff were absolutely brilliant. Helpful, pleasant and nothing was too much trouble for them. We have travelled worldwide over the years and they are the best we have come across, especiall Chona in the Havana bar. She was a dream. The food is excellent, drinks great choice. Use the "Hoof and Fin" restaurant. You still get your all inclusive allowance. We had the fillet steak that was as big as I've ever had and it cost me £3 extra!!. Great value.On my wifes birthday the staff arranged flowers and she even had 2 birthday cakes !! Used the Beach Club every day and this was excellant. Plenty of sunbeds, beach bar, 2 swimming pools and a great restaurant for lunch serving lobster and giant jumbo prawns. Not impressed with the Germans. As other people found out they don't know how to queue for the shuttle bus to and from the beach. Very ignorant. All in all it was a brilliant holiday made even better by the great staff we met there. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that wants a great beach, great food, and great staff. Can't wait to go back.

just returned from a weeks AI at hilton RAK and have to say that it is great value for money..................ok so its not the 5 star luxury we experienced at the Grosvenor House in March 06, but RAK was nearly a third of the price.At £800 the price is hardly different from the Med AI packages but the service, food etc etc miles ahead.

The beach club is excellent, again with excellent service and food provided by the hardworking staff...............lunch is a buffet style with meat fresh cooked on the BBQ or you can order from the pool bar menu.

The beach is reached by courtesy bus which runs hourly to & from the hotel..........the only downside to this is the 6pm scramble to get back........the germans dont quite have the jist of queueing....and pile up last and bundle the doors when it opens.............

Not much to do in the local area but if you want to relax its ideal and very good value for money.

We have just returned from a 2 week holiday at the Hilton Ras al Khaimah. It was every bit as fantastic as all the other reviewers said., we agree with every review. The staff are brilliant, so keen to please you and make your stay perfect. The food is excellent, the buffets are huge. We travelled independently, only prebooking a room. We then opted for half board which was very reasonable at about £22 each per day., but there is an all inclusive option but we felt ours offered best value, even though we still had to pay for our 'drinks' each night ( not too dear). What is quite dear in the hotel at about 11 dirhams is bottled water. Tip - take a short trip to the Manar shopping mall (free shuttle bus ) or short taxi ride (5 dirhams each way) or walk and stock up on bottled water ( 1 dirham in supermarket!) and soft drink cans ( much cheaper). Hotel was 100% full when we were there and staff coped admirably, the only problem was that the bus to and from the beach club became a bit like a stampede each day due to the lack of manners of some guests. The beach club is excellent. The staff say it gets extremely hot in summer 40 degrees plus and very humid, so be warned! Weather in April? Perfect! Can't wait to go back!

The hotel is well maintained with an efficient and friendly staff. The rooms are clean and service throughout is first class. The food at the a la carte Hoof and Fin is particularly good. The position adjoining the creek is good but as there are few other facilities nearby it is probably best to take the all inclusive option. The beach club is very good with a beautiful private beach, a new hotel is however under construction adjacent to the beach.
A perfect relaxing beach holiday as a break from busy Dubai.

Fantastic holiday

We have just returned from spending a week in the Hilton Ras al Khaimah Dubai, where we celebrated our Ruby wedding, We had the most wonderful time, the hotel, the food, and especialy the staff were definatly five star. My husband and I have travelled extensivly, but both agree that the staff were definatly in a class of their own.
Also to be commended is the beach club, transport from the hotel every thirty minutes, and the facilitys there were of the same high standard, once again we had first class food for our lunch.
We travelled on the fully inclusive deal, and it was truly excellent value, we would certainly go back again, and recommend it to our friends.
I would also like to thank the staff at Valueadded travel for their help in booking our holiday.

This hotel is good news

Charming international staff always appear genuinely keen to please. The rooms are large and comfortable, the food - even all-inclusive - was consistently interesting with a strong Indian/Asian leaning. The only slight disappointment was the very poor choice for the all-inclusive wine. The beach club was delightful and the staff moved about between the hotel and the beach club, so their enthusiasm never wavered. Good free shuttle service to the beach club, and also free transport to Dubai for the day.

Nothing was too much trouble and the management was permanently on the prowl looking for suggestions - which were implemented at the speed of sound.

Top Local Tips for Ras Al Khaimah

Be aware that this resort is not finished Ras Al Khaimah is undergoing a building frenzy - everywhere buildings are going up and in part is resembles a large building site. However, on the plus side you do get some good deals, especially with the all inclusive at the Hilton. We found the A/I saved us money on such things as water, soft drinks, tea and coffee. The 5 minute trip on the shuttle bus to the Hilton beach club is not pretty, yes there are loads of lovely villas, some just being built, but inbetween there is building rubble & building sites, so be prepared for dust. The museum in the old fort is worth a visit although, this is undergoing refurbishment! The old town too again is worth a visit. Manar Mall is a small air con shopping mall with the usual concessions, Starbucks, Carfore, so anything is easily obtained, although sun cream seemed to be expensive and mainly Nivea, so bring you own. The sun is very hot, we went in March & it was 30/35 degrees. Trip must is the desert dune bashing, fab!

The UAEs Great weather and friendly people.

Where to shop. There is the main shopping centre that has a cinema, bowling alley, Carrefour (supermarket) and many western shops for tourists. It costs around 10DHR (£1.30) for a cab back from the shopping centre.
