Despite having a nice room, excellent breakfast meals and staff, a perfect pool area we came away disppointed.. This was due to returning to Perth in Australia to find that the hotel had deducted some $576 from my Mastercard account (authorisation only) without my consent. This apparently is hotel practice but should have been clearly explained to us on the night we arrived and I decided reluctantly to give my Mastercard details as security for room bar etc expenses. When I duly paid a small amount in cash on leaving the hotel the amount deducted should have been returned to my Mastercard account. Three days on and the amount is still showing as authorisation only. We also went without toilet rolls for two days and relied on supplied tissue boxes due to a stockout at the hotel. Otherwise we had another good stay in Dubai, a city we have stayed in now three times but would hesitate to return to the same hotel in the future which is a pity as the staff generally in the restaurant......
