I am in the process of moving to Dubai and looking for an apartment. I was booked into this apt. hotel for one month while I looked. Internet was agreed to be included in my room. I was shown an apt. When I checked in they gave me a different,much shabbier apt. It smelled, the kitchen water heater didn't work, the bedroom door was broken, a kitchen cabinet was broken, the carpets badly needed shampooing. They denied me free internet claiming they hadn't offered it. There was extreme noise from the night club. I asked to change rooms, they were always too full to bother.
After 3 nights I left and moved to the K Porte Inn.

To add insult to injury, they had the audacity to charge me more per night because I didn't stay the month. Since they didn't provide what they originally offered I am trying to stop payment on my credit card.

I was so happy to get out of there.

The only positive thing I can say is the size of the apartment was tremendous, there was a very nice large flat panel TV, but these didn't make up for the awfulness of the place.

If I could give a negative rating I would. I'm an experienced traveler, visiting every continent except Africa and Antarctica. I will never stay in a Ramee hotel again. To call this hotel 4 star is laughable.

Dhow cruise and would highly recommend these, which can be arranged through the tour guide next to the reception. Overall, cheap and located in a convient place. Nothing more, nothing less!

Dirty and unfriendly

I regret to say, but Ramee will never be chosen by me again. No matter that the hotel is in a cheap class level, rooms were dirty, floors unwashed, and reception staff uncommonly unfriendly something I never experienced in that degree any other places in Dubai. Certain level should be kept no matter the prices.

Top Local Tips for Dubai

Taxis Taxis are very cheap and they are friendly and will take you anywhere. Shopping malls are great if your a millionaire but a bit out of the ordinary persons budget. Madinah Jumeriah shopping mall is great and what a location.

Afternoon Tea at Burj al Arab If you cant afford to stay at the Burj al Arab Hotel, then book afternoon tea about 2 weeks in advance. Book for the evening service and show up about 2 hours early- this gives you enough time to explore the hotel grounds, inside and out. Dont forget to ride the elevator on the back! By the time you have seen enough and taken MANY pictures its time for a relaxing sunset tea service! Worth the money!

Desert Tour-MUST DO! Of all things this woman enjoyed the most it was the Desert Tour, with dinner and belly dancing. Hubby and I enjoyed this way more than shopping at the malls. Dubai has 2 distinct classes of people, the extreme of "Rock Star" rich, or the "Average Joe". There is nothing in between. This is a great place if all you want is to shop for designer label items. Otherwise, you can get all the other items in your hometown. Dubai is lovely, but they have too much construction going on. As well as chaotic traffic due to the construction detours, that it made the city an unfavorable destination for us. If we had to meet again in Dubai, I would either wait for 10 years to go by, so they can catch up with their construction mess, or we would prefer to go to a Desert Resort to enjoy the simplicity of the good things in life = peace and quiet.
