Putting aside the fact that our 'confirmed' (in writing) executive sea view room was not available upon arrival (breach of contract?), we were given a 'better and larger' land-facing room instead (at about 10% less rate). We were not, however, told that we would get very little sleep as a result of the all night construction within the immediate area. Nor were we warned in advance that the bathroom of this so-called superior room would (and did) stink of urine! This was a Microsoft business trip for which the hotel management refused to extend corporate rates due to the 'internet booking'. But they changed our booking without prior notice. Sound one-sided? This disgracefull little hotel (forget the fancy write ups about themselves) seem to feel that they can change confirmed bookings without regard for their customers. In fact, they don't care about their customers. No TV for two nights (and the Night Duty Manager would not believe this untill he actually tested it himself!). I wonder if the owners of Jebel Ali International hotels are pleased with their urine quality hotel and the manner in which their customer (a representative of Microsoft) has been treated. It must be very embarrassing for them!
