Top Local Tips for Dubai

Good place to go Th international village is a nice place to go if you miss home...there are bars and restaurants from various countries. Had some beers and a nice dinner at an "Irish" pub. Also, a nightclub called Jules was usually hopping, and the female to male ratio was very high and they are very friendly....but be cautioned...most of them are "working", especially after about 9 PM. These young ladies apparently form the largest part of the underground economy of Dubai...considered the playground of the Gulf.

Car Rental is easy and cheap Try and rent a car in Dubai. Roads are clearly marked, traffic isn't too bad, parking is plentiful and having a car gives you a lot of flexibility, as opposed to waiting for taxis for hours or tolerating bad taxi drivers.

Dubai Museum Despite negative or neutral comments, I thought this museum was very good. The entry fee is very low (AED 3) and rather interesting indoor and outdoor displays. It is a relatively small musuem, so a visit should take about an hour. You should not overlook (which many people did) the museum annex next to the gift shop displaying many prehistoric artifacts from the area.
