Nice Hotel
from gp171080Overall I thought this hotel was very nice. The only disappointing thing was that the pools wasn't big enough, eventhough we did get a sunbed everyday there just wasn't really much character, they were pretty basic pools.
The food in the hotel was very nice and our hotel room was clean and spacious apart from the bathroom which was fairly small.
I would recommend this hotel to people who are on a budget but there are other nicer hotels in Dubai of course.
excellent sevice
from A TripAdvisor MemberCourtesey car transfer to and from the Airport was excellent. Although this Hotel is only 5 mins from the airport the is no aircraft noise at all even when you are by the pool.
The rooms are good without being exceptional but then again we paid considerably less than quotes for similar hotels.
Was asked to pay 100 AED per person per day to use the facilities of the sister Hotel on the beach but this was waved when I objected. Transfer to the beech is free on the courtesy bus except fridays or about 50 AED by taxi. Shopping centre is ten mins by taxi and costs around 10 AED.
convienient
from Tashii1Fantastic!
from A TripAdvisor MemberFantastic
from A TripAdvisor MemberI used the hotal spa on three occasions for aromatherapy, reflexology and a facial and all of them were first class treatments. You really did feel pampered.
Even though the hotel is near the airport you are not aware of it. We particularly felt we had made a good choice when we went to the coast and saw the huge amount of building work going on there.
All in all an excellent hotel which I hope to return to and which I would recommend to anyone with confidence
Well worth getting the Royal Club rooms
from TiredtravellerWith the beach in Dubai a giant building site now, I think this is an excellent place to base yourself for a leisure holiday. For the addicted beach combers a shuttle leaves daily for the associated (and way more expensive) sister hotels on the beach
Great value for money and always a first class sevice
from sportymortyWe stayed for 6 nights and the level of service we received could not be faulted, nothing was to much trouble from a different selection of pillows to hot or cold milk in our complimentary tea deliverd to our room each afternoon always within 5 min of ordering.
The staff around the pool area never stopped smiling and the sunloungers all had thick mattresses combined with a crystal clear pool and cold face towel service a very welcome touch.
There were a large selection of restaurants on site from Thai to Steak Houses, one in particular proved very popular as for 110.00 Dhrs (about £16.50)you could eat & drink all you wanted.
To sum up yes there are better 5* hotels in Dubai but for under £650.00 a head including flights for the 6 night stay I have paid considerably more and received far less.As for airport noise you wouldn't have known it was a 5 min taxi ride away, but one word of warning the traffic in Dubai city at certain times is a nightmare and a 5 min taxi ride to the malls or the gold souk can take 30-45 min!
decent hotel, dated rooms, odd service.
from A TripAdvisor MemberRestaurant choice was excellent, and the breakfast service delivered to your room for AED77 (about 12 quid) was brilliant. My gripe with the hotel was the inconsistent levels of service. They were aware i was on a "bargain break" package and denied me outgoing calls (why? I had already given them my CC details at check in) until i called to complain and they lifted the restrictions. They also removed the fruit basket from my room (a little petty considering all rooms have them) and instead of receiving the complimentary newspaper in the morning hanging from a tasteful little canvas bag on the door knob, it was just dumped on the floor (seriously!). I was obviously the only peasant that had to endure this out of the entire floor. It made me feel a little awkward, but the best was at check out. There was about 10 people before me who were dealt with quickly & they swiftly had their private cars/transfers to the airport. When i checked out they asked me what class of air i was travelling. I felt this was a little undignified - I told them economy, and basically it relegated me to a shared mini-bus that i had to wait in for 10min for a few other passengers, which i thought was bizarre considering its a 2min trip to the airport!
i would give this 7/10. The main points scored was the 7am check in!
nice building, shame about the room!
from eribazThis is a 5 star hotel, everything outside of the bedroom is really 5 star, the restaurants are very good, but pricey. The spa and gym proffesional. the big let down was the bedroom. the bathroom is ok if you are a midget on your own, but not for two average sized people!! Also the bed is only a european double, definatly not big enough. The furnishings and decoration are dismal-my first house was in a better state!!! The pillows are fluffed at nght time, but no need as they are made of fresh air anyway!!! Bring your own, is my advice!!!
I have stayed in far superior rooms back here in the uk in motorway lodges!! The swimming pools are big, but again need updating, and there are not enough sun umbrellas-not good in summer temperatures!!
The staff seem friendly enough, but seem a bit too subservient for my liking. Spend more money and stay somewhere else as lying by the pool, you watch airplanes land and take off....great if you are a plane spotter, but not brilliant if you want to lounge by the pool.
Le Meridien - Okay
from rcroweAll in all I would n't consider this in the same league as other 5 star hotels we stayed in such as Shangri-La, Hyatt before , no comparison
However you get what you pay for and it was cheaper than these. One gripe was the charge of 100 AED p.p to visit the Royal Meridien Beach club , we went one day to Jumeirah Beach hotel , got a taxi for AED 50 and paid a charge of 35 AED to use the Beach club .
Would I go back ? In short not to this hotel, I would probably stay in Shangri-La or Grand Hyatt
Top Local Tips for Dubai
Swim in the sun in the morning, Ski in the afternoon...!! I had a great day during my 30th birthday this year.. I visited the Wild Wadi Water Park in the morning and then the Ski Dubai in the afternoon.. What a day, would strongly recommend both...!!
smoking rooms ask for non smoking if required
Jumeirah mosque The only mosque in Dubai that non-muslims are allowed to go into. It's close to all the public beaches and beach hotels. The mosque is beautiful. On certain days at 10am they offer an hour long tour. Dress modestly: women have to cover their heads and bodies, men have to cover their knees and shoulders. They have scarves and wrap arounds for men and women, if you haven't bought them. The guide talks through some information about the mosque itself, Islam, traditions and beliefs. Then she opened up to questions. She encouraged people to ask her anything and she'd try to answer it. The atmosphere was very open and I definitely learnt a lot more about the culture and religion. It was a fantasic experience. It was very cheap 10dhm - about £1.50 each.

I can say this if you want the most perfect Hotel to stay this is it, from arriving and being greeted in the lobby by the very experienced door staff, the able receptionist, and the very capable bell boy, they sure know how to look after everyones needs. I would recomend this Hotel to all of our freinds, and family.
