I was looking for a one-night, place to relax in a comfortable setting. I am very used to getting a quick place to stay, and have been to many hotels in my lifetime. This time, I trusted websites instead of my own judgement.
After being checked in, they insisted on keeping my passport for one hour. This is something that I never have been asked for in all of the international hotels that I have been to. One should never have to surrender a passport to anyone. If anything, a photocopy of my passport has been taken, but never the original. They claimed to "need the original". I insisted on "needing to wait" and they were done in about 10 minutes. Hmmmmmm. I don’t advise anyone to agree to that. I’ll let you figure out what that was all about.
Walking down the hallways, there was that "incense" smell everywhere....not very pleasant.
Once inside the room, I put the "Do Not Disturb" sign out, dead bolted the door and immediately noted that I was NOT in a four or even three star......
