We spent a week at the Rotana hotel and although there are some very positive points for us they were outweighed by the negative. Lets start with the positive the food in the restaurants was very good quality and both food and drinks were reasonably priced. The gardens and pool complex was well laid out with plenty of sunbeds. Now about the negatives prior to travelling I e-mailed the hotel to ensure that the room was big enough for my husband, child and myself. I specifically wanted to ensure a bed was available for my child to sleep in, despite this when we arrived we waited an age to check in and found we were allocated a standard room which was very small with limited drawer/cupboard space and one bed. Despite repeated attempts to resolve the situation I found the reception staff to be surly and unhelpful to say the least refusing to move us or upgrade us even with the offer of paying for the upgrade. A travel bed was eventually provided but this left the room cramped without any space to move around. The general atmosphere around the hotel was also quite strange as although staff were polite at all times they were never really friendly and no one seemed to enjoy their job. I would not return to this hotel again and would not recommend it to families as the rooms are not designed to hold more than two people with any more luggage than a weekend bag!!

Great Hotel

Stayed in the Beach Rotana at the end of September, beginning of October 05. Contemporary styled rooms. Very attentive staff. Great restaurants. The pool and gym were excellent. The man made beach was disappointing - and beware the water was very dirty. The advertised dive centre was closed. On the whole an excellent hotel and really enjoyable stay. Some tips - when you arrive at Abu Dhabi airport - stock up on duty free! Don't use the hotel cabs - use the local cabs (much cheaper)!

the hotel was pleasant decor was very nice but the bedrooms need ma bit class, as with hotel rooms in dubai they are quite outstanding. But food was great and staff very pleasant and friendly poolarea very nice.

Stayed in club level rooms, well worth spending a little extra. am pleased to say that the pool is operational after the retiling. service was good.. staff were pleasant.. if you want a relaxing break then the hotel really can't fault.. however, would still say the hotel has some lessons to learn from the hotels in dubai..

Excellent Hotel

Stayed for 12 nights in march and found the hotel to be excellent. First class choice of restauratnts & general facilities. Amenity areas perfect for sun bathing & swimming. I played quite a lot of golf & transfer to course smooth & efficient (about 15/20 minutes),. Hotel located beside main shopping mall which is handy. We stayed in a club level room which was spacious & well equiped & excellent breakfasts in the club level lounge.
Stayed in quite a few hotels in region & Beach Hotel & Towers will not disappoint.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights, where to start, it took us an age to get checked in, whilst the main hotel staff were courtious, the pool and leisure staff were plain rude, i got really badly burned on the second day and decided to keep my top on, i decided to stand in the pool to cool off and was reading my book when the lifeguard blew his whistle and shouted across the pool for me to get out ! I enquired why and was told that having my tshirt on in the pool was unhygenic, i stressed that it was clean and that it was made of the same webbed material as my swim shorts, the leisure manager was called and we were told that if i kept my top on then i was under no circumstances to go near the pool. We tried to argue the point but were basically threatened with being thrown out of the hotel. A man who was teaching his kids how to swim suffered the same fate as me.
The restaraunts are terrible and they could not offer my partner a vegetarian option. Thank god we found the meridian just along the road, friendly staff, great bars and amazing places to eat......... AVOID THE BEACH ROTANA !

My husband and myself have just returned from the Beach Rotana hotel and we both had a wonderful time. We have holidayed in Dubai serveral times and have stayed at some of the best hotels they offer, but this surpassed any of them. We dined at Rosebuds Buffet Resturant every night as the food was so good. Normally when we holiday we always dine al a carte in the evenings but having Rosebuds to eat in there was no need to. The rooms were a good size with a balconys and the bathrooms were perfect. We will be returning to the Beach Rotana next year without a doubt

A middle eastern gem!

When we booked a two-centre holiday to Abu Dhabi & Dubai, our travel agent told us to go to Abu Dhabi first and 'build up to the wow factor' of our Dubai hotel. How wrong he was! The Beach Rotana Hotel & Towers in Abu Dhabi takes some beating - a top class property in every respect.

The lobby and public areas are sumptuous and beautifully maintained, the bedrooms (if a little lacking in wardrobe / drawer space) are very comfortable & well appointed and serviced twice daily, the gym is extensive and, whilst the coastal view is not great, the waterfront gardens and pool area are superbly landscaped (much more attractive than the photos at the hotel's website suggest). The hotel is connected by an air conditioned escalator link to the large and attractive Abu Dhabi Mall, with great shopping at prices which beat those we went on to find in Dubai. The mall also has a large cineplex (all the movies are in English with Arabic subtitles) and a good selection of fast food / chain restaurants. Dining options in the hotel were plentiful and offered excellent value for money fine dining. I'd recommend the Kung Pao Chicken in Trader Vics!

Of particular note is the standard of service we received from the hotel staff - every one of them was attentive and smiling.

Overall a true gem of a hotel - much better than many travel agents seem to describe it.

Excellent - first class - Beach Rotana and Towers

We just spent a week at the Beach Rotana and Towers in Abu Dhabi and had a great time. We would happily recommend this hotel as a genuine 5 star experience. As previous reviewers have mentioned, the breakfast is excellent - a huge selection of all types of preferred foods is provided.

The shopping mall is next door (literally), and includes a Co-op hypermarket - cheap and extensive - and a Food Court on the 3rd floor.

This means, in practice, that you can snack and eat in the afternoon and evening, very economically and also get real bargains on a whole range of goods from electronics to clothing and luxury items.

We upgraded, for very little extra, to a Premier Room - which meant we were in the Tower - and we would recommend this, if it is an available option.

The staff and overall level of service were first class.

The gym was well equipped and all facilities were at a very good standard.

Just returned from an 'all inclusive' week at the Beach Rotana Hotel and Towers. Whilst there is not a lot to do or see in Abu Dhabi, the hotel is superb. I would suggest that this is an ideal location if you are looking for total relaxation in a luxury environment with sunshine guaranteed. The rooms are not huge but are tastefully decorated with big beds and an excellent shower. The gardens are beautifully landscaped, the sun loungers are plentiful and the changing rooms are immaculate. Some of the pool tiles are missing, but are due to be replaced as part of the pool refurbishment at the end of July. The best thing about this hotel is the food, the quality and selection is exceptional. I have eaten at the Burj Al Arab and the food at this hotel easily surpasses that.

Unlike the previous reviewer neither myself, my partner or any of the friends we made at the hotel were propositioned in any way. Their description sounds a far cry from the hotel we stayed at!!!

Top Local Tips for Dubai

Taxis Don't be afraid to use the taxis - they're dirt cheap. Even the hotel Lexus only cos about 8 dirhams (just over a £1) to get across the city.

Getting to Abu Dhabi Fly with Etihad airline, you will be pleasantly surprised with their level of service and comfort on the plane. In my opinion, much better than BA !!

Emirates Palace - A must see place Went to this outstanding Palace from outside, looks like an old Moghol style that you can see as well in rajasthan. Impressive huge lobby, however missing some staff human touchs, as you may cross the 200m lobby without any intereactions: a bit cold! Restaurant prices are conservative for such a place. Tip to get in at the gate: mention that you re meeting a client for a coffee, they ll let you get in.
