Children Safety Always have to be aware of the danger of child kidnappers, for it is a very big city so is the masjid itself. Need to know which door u came in from so as to use the same door to go out. Also be aware of the con-artists, ....i lost everything.....and i need $5000 to get my family back home......

Taxi driver When leaving the Hilton, it is better to hire the limo/taxi service in the basement parking area. They charge 200 riyals, which is slightly more than what outsiders charge, but you wont get swindled later on. It is difficult to find an outsider taxi anyway, since directly outside the hotel is the Haram, where taxis are either in high demand or not passable. If you do get an outside taxi, tell the driver of your airline at Jeddah airport too. My driver argued with me at the end of my trip that he assumed that I was taking Saudi airlines, whose terminal is 25 km (!) closer than Lufthansa's, so he would need to charge me 25 riyals more. I argued back, and got away with 160 riyals.
