Shopping and sights near Muscat Must see the childrens Museum and If you want to go to Nizwa 172 Km away! where you can get an underground train to the cave then DO NOT GO ON MONDAY! Thats the only day there shut! Hire a car to get around and Mutra souk on the corniche is not that cheaper than other countries! Good shop on the entrance for 20 Omani Riyals old doors to hang on the wall. Take it in Hand luggage but do not have any mirrors with it! Seeb Souk is tacky but you can find some old chests made there for 7 Omani! Get a box from Lulu Hyper's skip and pack it with clothers to cusion it. Tape it up and hey presto! A chest sent with your suitcase!
