Very pleasant staff and management. Rates were reasonable. The room was roomy and although the air con did not work for two nights, this was soon fixed and did not spoil the stay.
Breakfast was odd and extremly healthy, the coffee was plentiful and strong, thankfully.
Internet connectin was available.
I'm happy to recommend this hotel.
What can I say? They really go all out when it comes to 5-star services, especially at the InterContinental Hotel in Beirut.
As soon as you enter the revolving doors, your eyes automatically wander up towards the grand marble staircase, adorned with a huge red carpet. Directly above you, crystal chandeliers sparkle. The lobby or reception isn't the first thing you see, as you would expect with most hotels. Instead, richly decorated arabic themes take there place along the walkway, which leads to the reception desk. Traditional coffee vessels and dried fruit and nuts, edible by the way, are there for your pleasure. As you finally reach the reception desk, 5 staff await you. I was given an upgrade into the Phoenician room. AMAZING views of the Mediterranean Sea from one side, and the beautiful Lebanese mountains on the other. A view that typifies everything Lebanon is. Words can't explain the luxury that is offered at the Phoenicia. You HAVE to see it for yourself to believe me. A perfect hotel, in the best location in one of the worlds most beautiful cities. What more could I ask for?
