Taxis Taxis are an inexpensive way to travel around Amman and very easy to find .If you collect one at the hotel normally you agree a price with the driver for the trip .Collecting one away from the hotel will be cheaper when you ask the meter to be put on .Hoeever all the taxis we collected at the hotel were very clean with a/c and a driver who spoke English .The other taxis although willing could not necessarily read a map or gave us false information or were older etc .When setting off have somebody write down your possible locations in Arabic for you and carry a map at all times .Our GPS ws very useful.
