Top Local Tips for Amman
Cabs will rip you off Its very rare for cabs to have a meter running (and even when they do its not in dinars so you have to try and convert). Ask someone in your hotel how much the fare should be. In some cases where the group took two cabs (via the same route) there was a difference of up to $20 in the fares charged.
Days Inn, Amman Do not use their restaurant. It was absolutely appalling and the restaurant manager was even worse.
not that much to do or see I found one full day's sight-seeing time more than adequate. Not much in the way of shopping and the shop owners drive a hard bargain - things are really very expensive compared say to Egypt. Local people are friendly and helpful and most speak good English.
