Does not live up to High Price!!

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights - 3 nights too long!! Spiders in the bedroom (bad housekeeping) dirty knives/forks/spoons/dishes at breakfast. Erratic lifts (due to passover we were told ) - all guests are not of that faith!! Spa and pool over the main road!! Would not want to go there again as it was very expensive and didnt live up to the cost.

Horrible Hotel Experience

A friend and I stayed at the hotel for 5 days. We asked for a twin bed and received 2 singles pushed together. We did not complain as it was a holiday and there were no other hotels to move to. When we had the room cleaned on the third day, my $1200 pearl ring along with other valuables were stolen from the room. The hotel did absolutely nothing, and we received no compensation. I recommend never staying here.

Top Local Tips for Tiberias

Great location of exploring Golan Heights and Upper Galilee Tiberias is a fantastic base for taking a couple of day trips to the Golan Heights and the Upper Galilee Region! It is located next to the Sea of Galilee, which also makes it a special place to stay for Christian Tourists. We were there 3 days and had one day of easy touring through the Golan Heights, another touring the mediteranean coast up to Rosh Hanikra (grottos on the Lebanese border - not to be missed!!!) Also, don't miss the cable car from Kiryat Shmona which takes you up a steep cliff face. Once you're at the top you can walk across the parking lot, and then walk across the road to get a nice expansive view into Southern Lebanon. You can also view a UN observation post just up the road and across the border in Lebanon. Remember, if you're driving in desolate areas near the borders there are landmines (and the areas aren't always marked well)!!! So don't explore off the beaten path!!

Where to find what to do By the front desk in Hotel Aviv you will find all the brochures and coupon books for the area. Most of the attractions are in neighboring cities, usually a 15-20 minute drive. You can go jeeping, ATV'ing, horseback riding, and much more. Call to find out hours of operation on any outdoor place as some have afternoon-evening hours in the summer due to the heat.

A wonderful restaurant with great food and service Eat at Decks! Beautiful night views of Tiberias and it is right on the water. The food is delicious and we had fantastic, friendly service even though we were among the last customers of the night. The same owners run a Chinese restaurant next door called "The Pagoda,' which is also supposed to be very good but we didn't eat there.
