Bad food, unpolite staff, unfair management who tried to give us an old, dirty and damaged room with view on rubbish, while we booked and payed in advance for a renewed room with view on sea. Never again.

The Grand Beach, though not glamorous is clean and b/fast is included. Staff is friendly and is close to all locations without being in centre of town. Also being by the sea at night if there is a breeze it is nice to hang outside and take it in.

Historical Traveller Reviews of Grand Beach Hotel

i have always been happy at the Grand Beach Hotel

from 3timeshappy
I stayed at the Grand Beach Hotel in January 2000, July 2001 and September 2003. Everytime i stayed there for one or two nights because i was either arriving in Israel for a trip or coming back home to my country. I always well treated and the hotel staff were always very nice to me. Considering that i would be arriving on late Friday afternoon, when Shabats had started, they were nice to me and there was always a place for me for Shabat supper even if i had not ordered it previously.
I liked the room very much and i can always recommend it. Next time i visit Israel, I will stay at the Grand Beach Hotel again.
There is another detail for me to recommend this Hotel. I usually travel alone, and i was always well protected by the people at the Hotel and even given suggestions of how to get to places and the best means of transportation to other cities.

Good Hotel in Tel Aviv

from angelaf
We were looking for a good but not expensive hotel in Tel Aviv for a week.
We found the Grand Beach Hotel on the Web. We came back very satisfied.

The hotel staff was very accommodating.
The rooms are newly renovated, very nice, clean and very comfortable.
We had LCD TV, a safe comfortable beds. All new and fresh.

The food on the buffet is delicious. The price was right.
For us this is the best choice hotel in Tel Aviv.

The hotel was not worth the price. The lobby is very deceiving; it’s the nicest part of the hotel. During my stay one of the elevators was broken. I was there for 4 nights and it still was not fixed. The elevators were extremely slow; it was faster to take the stairs. Also several members in my group got stuck in the elevator. The rooms are very small and cramped. The walls are thin, so you can hear your neighbors and people in the hallway clearly Still questioning how well or often they are really cleaned, bathroom smelled. The hallways had a horrible smell with large stains on them. (Also the activity room). The food was average. They serve the same menu choices for breakfast and dinner.

Rather put pins in my eyes!!!!!!!

Stayed at the Grand Beach Hotel in Tel Aviv.

I have never encountered a worse Hotel in all my life and I have toured the World on various Business trips.

The Staff were totally uninterested in our complaints regarding the state of the rooms which were at best dirty, at worst disgusting.

I would advise that any person seeking a trip to Tel Aviv think very carefully about visiting the Grand Beach in Tel Aviv as it is not a cheap option.

Never Again

from A TripAdvisor Member
Just back from a two day trip to the Tel Aviv, staying at the Grand Beach. The rooms we had were small and worst of all dirty. I resent having to kill cockroaches before I can occupy the room. Reception were disinterested, although the General Manager was apologetic. Food average to poor. Can find no reason to recommend this unless you want an expensive youth hostel.

A very mixed picture

To start with, the name. It does not lie on the beach and is over 5 mins walk from the main beach, although some smaller ones are closer.

The location as a whole is a bit far north of the main tourist areas of tel Aviv although it is closer to the renovated ports district.

"Renovated": the bar area and 1 or 2 of the bedroom floors - I would recommend specifying you want the 10th floor! Elsewhere, this place is shabby. The renovated rooms are, however, quite nice.

Breakfast: disgusting

The staff: mostly very friendly

Big mistake

We stayed at the Grand Beach for 2 nights in January. We choose the Grand Beach because it seemed like a decent hotel, and most importantly, it was Glatt Kosher. It was not the 4 star hotel advertised. The hotel was older. It was not really on the beach. We had "sort of" a beach view from our rooms. It is on the corner of Hayarkon and another street, but it is really on the other street.

The rooms were average. Our remote control on the tv did not work well, you had to get up to turn it on the tv, and the sound always started out blasting. They didn't even have decent cable, only a few channels.

But most disappointing of all was the food. We paid for half-board, and the dinner was like eating in any cafeteria. It was so far from good hotel food, it isn't normal.

If the whole thing had been cheaper, it would have been okay, but for what we paid, it was really bad.

If you want Glatt kosher, stay at the Sheraton or one of the others up the street. We found that the Glatt Kosher restuarants were all in that area. (We didn't hear about the Glatt kosher restaurant across the street in hotel till the day we left.)

There was also no minyan in the hotel (despite it being glatt) and the nearest minyan was a 15 minute walk and davened very very early.

The hotel was also full of students/young adults on Israel programs.

In the summer, the location is probably "better" in that it is very close to the separate beach.

Do not go to the Grand Beach

from Steinera
We spent a week end at the Grand Beach in Tel-Aviv and were very disapointed. It started when they sent us to a parking where there was no room. Our hotel room was full of long hairs and the carpet had a smell of sweat. The airconditioner only had a fan and no cold air. There was also a television but it did not function and the technician who was supposed to repair it, never showed up.
Friday night dinner was a disaster: 25$ per person bought us dry chicken and canned vegetables (the next day we spent 25$ per person in a fish restaurant and had a fabulous meal -Yami Yami on Yermiyahu street). Breakfast was more of the same: stale bread, hot drinks that were cold, juices that were colored water, eggs that were gray on the inside etc etc. Be sure to order another hotel

Decent hotel at a good location

from Labatt
The Grand Beach Hotel is on Ha-Yarkon Street, across the street from the beach and Independence Park. It's a good, fairly sizable hotel but not all that remarkable.

Good price, good staff, OK location

I visit Israel at least twice every year. I always spend the last night in Tel Aviv, so that I am reasonably near to the airport for the early flight home. (Also I have friends there who can feed me!)

Each time I tried a different hotel and I was always disappointed. The staff always seemed to have a 'middle eastern' attitude to service. A lot of expressions of regret and concern at problems but zero help.

The Grand Beach was a refreshing change! Helpful, friendly and obliging. I mentioned (in December) that the room was a bit chilly and asked if they had a fan heater I could borrow. They switched on the heating for the whole hotel!

Arrival for a non-smoker is great, as they perfume the rooms when thy prepare them. The Hilton it ain't, but I have just booked my 4th stay there; and I am NOT the easiest of customers to please.

Top Local Tips for Tel Aviv

TAL HOTEL Great hotel. The TAL Hotel on the street Hayarkon is a great hotel. Wonderful rooms. Great staff!! walking distance to the Namal Tel Aviv. Good room rate for this area and this location. Rare for Tel Aviv, they have some free parking but first come first serve.

taxi advice if you need to travel inside of the city do not take normal taxi, but "monit", yellow taxi, its less expensive and stop you where ever decide!
