Having spend nearly two years at Beit Oren (1981 - 1983) as a volunteer I came back in 2003. The Kibbutz was gone, but the guesthouse was still there. A beautiful nature reserve called Little Switserland was as beautiful as ever. One can make great hikes, swimm, relax, etc. Haïfa is nearby and worth a visit. Eat Falafel, watch the harbour, the beautiful gardens. The food was good (and kosher) service was excellent, rooms were clean. Planning to go back there again soon.
