After 3 weeks travelling through Syria, Jordan and Eygpt, my intrepid mum and me found Rowena and her brothers (forgot their names) hospitable and kind. The room were iffy but the food was absolutely fantastic- generous portions and delectable pasta and amazing pizza- better then any had in London. Fantastic location for exploring the Old City if you can bear the bead bugs etc.

Azzahra Hotel is located at the heart of Jerusalem which was great for me to travel to the old city and around jerusalem. The rooms are not new nor are they equipped with air conditioning or heating, but they are comfortable and have TV and a fridge. The building has a lot of character, it is more than a 100 years old and the architecture and decor are so rustic and charming it takes your breath away. The best part of my stay was the in house restaurant which serves local food as well as one of the best pizzas I have had in my life! Overall, my stay was comfortable and enjoyable, the staff is great and friendly. While it was a five star hotel it is an inviting and warm place to stay in for short or long periods of time.
