Good food, bad room
When we arrived at the hotel we were not welcomed by the member of staff. Perhaps her English was poor, I don't know - but she was almost mute & we did not feel very welcome. We were taken to our room in utter silence in fact!
ur room (One, The Willows) was not very clean. In fact it was dirty. However, the bathroom was very clean but there was no shower, I was really, really surprised by this & wish I had had the foresight to ask if there would be a shower - I had just assumed there would be which was a mistake on my part.
The room looked out over a dirty plastic corrugated roof that had seen better days & also a skip & rubbish pile. This was really dissappointing as I had booked into a 'Country House Hotel' - not a municipal tip. I really felt annoyed by this, I don't think it would take too much care to make sure your guests cannot see rubbish out of their bedrooms.
